Reporting Structure

The employee will report to the Assistant Representative at FAO Brazil - Programme.

Focus on Technology

The Project's actions are structured in five complementary components:

• Promote the Integrated Management of Natural Resources in productive landscapes.
• Promote multiple-use forest management through Sustainable Forest Management among family farmers.
• Forest and Landscape Restoration to contribute to community economies and biodiversity maintenance.
• Knowledge Management, capacity development, and awareness for environmental licensing processes.
• Coordination with other institutions, monitoring, and evaluation.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Data Gathering on actions, projects, and forest restoration programs within the project regions.
• Analyze information about forest restoration initiatives in the project area.
• Propose methodologies for analyzing and monitoring restoration actions.
• Present a project exit strategy for a project component.
• Monitor co-financing budgets and potential synergistic actions.
• Contribute to implementing monitoring and evaluation systems.
• Support preparation of technical reports and monitoring evaluation missions.
• Support initiatives on forest management and restoration.
• Carry out field supervision visits and advise technical staff of project partners.
• Support and monitor the hiring selection/bidding process in accordance with standards.
• Coordinate and document meetings.
• Available for fieldwork and travel.

CANDIDATES WILL BE EVALUATED ON:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant areas.
• At least 5 years of experience in forestry and landscape restoration.
• Proficiency in English and Portuguese.
• Brazilian nationality.

• Experience in planning and training coordination/execution processes.
