Fernando de Sousa Mello

Alternating and mixing interests in pictorial arts, sciences (especially physics, astrophysics, and astrobiology), and transhumanism, I studied for many nice years the possible upbrings and futures of life on our planet and in our Galaxy. In the process, I developed many general-use skills, from self-learning and programming to critical thought and problem-solving. Still doing some academic research and personal artistic projects, I am now focusing my attention and delving into the private and tech sectors, deepening my knowledge of data science techniques and processes.

I developed a temporal model of habitability in our Galaxy from planetary to galactic scale, linking different models, ideas, and data from the literature and of my own, developing and deepening many skills in the process, such as research skills, self-learning, problem-solving, and critical thinking. The core part of the model was coded in C and the later transformation, reduction, and presentation of data was made in C, Excel, Mathematica, and Illustrator. And I contributed to the production and edition of a complete high-school-level digital course in physics as part of a team of writers and editors.
