Job Purpose
The Offshore Nurse is responsible for leading onboard health services, ensuring hospital readiness, providing medical assistance, and promoting a healthy working environment and overall wellbeing for all personnel onboard the FPSO. The role also ensures compliance with corporate health standards and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead onboard health services, ensuring hospital readiness and proper medical assistance at all times;
Activate MEDEVAC procedures in accordance with remote medical support instructions;
Maintain updated inventory of medicines and medical supplies, ensuring availability and preventing expired items onboard;
Liaise with onshore remote medical support for diagnosis guidance and prescription of medicines for injured or ill personnel;
Support the preparation and implementation of rescue plans (confined space and working at height);
Request calibration, hydrostatic testing, and replacement of hospital equipment and first aid kits to ensure prompt emergency response;
Inspect catering services and facilities, including food storage, conservation, preparation, and accommodation cleanliness, maintaining proper health inspection records;
Participate in auditing and certification processes related to health services;
Collect and monitor fresh and potable water samples, conducting analysis onboard and coordinating onshore testing in accordance with procedures;
Provide First Aid training to designated first aid teams onboard;
Prepare and maintain medical documentation and reports (Health Initial Report, Logbook, corporate reports, and other required documents);
Implement and maintain the Health Service Waste Management Program and ensure proper recordkeeping.
Requirements
Degree in Nursing with valid COREN registration;
Previous experience in offshore operations (FPSO or oil & gas environment preferred);
Advanced life support and emergency care training;
Experience with occupational health routines and health surveillance;
Fluent English (minimum intermediate level);
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently onboard;
Knowledge of Brazilian maritime and health regulations is an advantage.
