Job summary

As an PL Software Engineer on the Developer Experience team at John Deere, based at the Indaiatuba/SP office, you will focus on the developer experience before a commit is submitted. Working with IDE plugins, AI for developers, the Developer Portal, and tools that provide local feedback, there is great potential to reduce friction, increase speed, and improve satisfaction through tools, plugins, and solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience with NodeJs, TypeScript and ReactJs
• Experience with cloud solution providers (such as AWS, Azure, etc.) for hosting applications and services
• Experience consuming and creating APIs
• Experience working within a developer community

Responsibilities

• Improve the developer experience at John Deere by providing solutions such as local plugins for early feedback and internal portals to disseminate necessary information
• Identify organizational constraints and mitigate them through effective software development practices
• Facilitate the adoption of new technologies by the developer community
• Actively engage with the developer community, amplifying their voices to drive impactful changes that benefit end customers
• Act as a technical evangelist, proactively promoting opportunities for technical advancement at John Deere
• Focus on enabling the right processes, empowering developers to take control of their own workflow instead of being hindered by bottlenecks

What You Need

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
• Advanced English (broad vocabulary, good grammar, ability to lead meetings, argue points, negotiate, and conduct training sessions)
• Experience with various DevOps tools (GitHub & GitHub Actions, Docker, Terraform, Artifactory, Sonar, linting tools, etc.)
• Experience with multiple programming languages (e.g., Python or Go)
• Contributions to open-source platforms/tools
• Experience with Internal Developer Portals and/or Backstage
• Experience with best technical practices such as Code Review, Clean Code, and microservices
• Understanding of event-driven architecture systems
• Knowledge of OAUTH and OIDC
