    Job Description

    This role provides essential procurement and supplier expertise in the areas of strategic sourcing and category management with strong commercial and contractual experience with a high focus on Network Operation activities. This role will deliver high-quality, innovative, and proven cost-effective methodologies to support company and department objectives. This role will interface and foster a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams. This role requires exceptional verbal and written communication, strong organizational and time management skills.

    Examples of some major categories of managed spend include:

    • Civil/Infrastructure Works & Equipment (examples: Telecom Site Acquisition Services, Civil Works –inc., Site
    • Preparation, Tower Foundation works, Tower Erection, Fencing, Equipment Shelters, Antenna structures, Generators, etc)
    • Telecom Equipment Installation & Commissioning Services
    • Site Equipment such as Ancillaries, Microwave, etc
    • OEM Hardware & Software

    Responsibilities will include:

    • Developing a comprehensive understanding of assigned geographical requirements, potential supply base, internal clients & customer requirements
    • Engaging with regional business teams on critical/large projects
    • Setting long-term commercial strategic direction for sourcing 3rd party requirements in support of projects.
    • Working closely with Engineering, Account Leads, and Project Management Office to ensure project & technical requirements translate to clear scopes of Work/Specifications against which RFQs/tenders can be issued and like-for-like evaluations completed considering commercial, technical & deployment capability requirements to determine optimal selection of suppliers.
    • Negotiating contracts, including minimizing risk between MSI's customer agreements and supplier agreements with "back-to-back" terms
    • Influencing business and wider category stakeholders.
    • Ability to project manage sourcing efforts of numerous projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to understand technical requirements of communication systems in order to optimally source 3rd party equipment and services
    • Developing relationships with senior leadership.
    • Working with Category Management to develop a supply base to meet the needs of the projects/territories
    • Providing subject matter expertise on complex purchasing, technical, legal & contractual issues.
    • Defining governance around best practices and purchasing policies.
    • Providing input and contributing to Global Category Managers on supplier performance and in developing category strategies
    • Achieving assigned targets for margin improvement
    • Using Motorola's eProcurement applications, review & approve Purchase Requisitions, contracts, supplier set up, etc

    In this role, specific skills/knowledge/experiences will include:

    • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Law, Information Technology or a related program or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field
    • 5+ years of Procurement Category Management or relevant experience
    • Expert in negotiation skills in both financial and business matters, including commercial terms and risk mitigation for strategic contracts
    • Experience procure-to-pay process
    • Must have a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
    • Demonstrate success with managing a project/program to completion
    • Experience with international procurement is a plus
    • Relevant Data Protection / Privacy Management qualification desirable.
    • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment
    • Exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills (English/Portuguese)
    • Creative problem solver and ability to build relationships across teams and with vendors.
