    As a product manager on Uber's New Verticals team, you'll play a key role in creating a flawless experience that helps customers get anything they want from local merchants.

    Uber to date has successfully helped customers get restaurant food delivered to their doors. We are excited to bring that delight and convenience to virtually everything else.

    Today, we're focused on the grocery, convenience, alcohol and pharmacy verticals, but this team has broader ambitions to expand into plenty of other retail areas in the future.

    In this role, you will be working with a broad set of cross-functional stakeholders across operations, data science, design, engineering, marketing and more.

    We are just in the beginning stages of building out our new delivery verticals, and the potential opportunities are vast and uncharted.


    In this role, you will:


    Define, own, and execute the product roadmap for your sub-area that aligns with business goals and customer needsBuild products across various surfaces and platforms (mobile app, website, internal tools, APIs) that make ordering and fulfilling deliveries compelling and reliableLead the end to end product development process from concept to launch.

    Collaborate with engineering, design and other teams to prioritize and deliver high quality featuresLeverage data and experimentation to drive growth and optimize product performanceWork with a wide variety of business partners and operations teams to define and implement the strategy to scale these products globally.

    Experience working at e-commerce or marketplace companiesExperience taking products from 0 to 1, from a blank piece of paper to initial scale outExperience with Full-stack product delivery that includes UX and backend systems. Basic Qualifications Minimum 7 years experience delivering successful and innovative products with your fingerprints all over themPrevious technology product experience. You would have directly worked on building B2B or B2C features, ideally within a marketplace business. You are familiar with systems thinking, analytics and experiment design, and basic software development conceptsTechnical savviness.


    Can manifest in different ways:

    a computer science undergraduate degree, hands-on software engineering experience, or experiences building complex software products side by side with engineers.

    Technical understanding must go from the highest abstractions down to the metalExceptional verbal and written communication skills.

    You will be doing a lot of internal and external advocacy and collaboration that will require a keen eye for narrative and storytelling about your product area.

    Its a global team, so English skills are required.
    Attention to detail. The ability to obsess over every single part of the retailing processCustomer obsession.

    The ability to take on complex product challenges and find elegant, simplifying solutions to avoid making them our users and partner's problemsFinger-tippiness with data.

    You find a way to get the data you need and whip it into an insightful story with no help.

    You know how to leverage this data to make decisions without getting stuck in analysis paralysisA "Driver" mindset. You are biased toward action, a great collaborator, a master disambiguator/simplifier, and constantly pushing toward clarity and deliveryGrit.
