    Position Details As the COO and EVP of Delivery at Tilson, you will lead multiple client-serving operations, overseeing divisions in engineering, site development, wireless construction, OSP construction, broadband consulting, and business development.

    Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is pivotal within the Senior Leadership team as the person with direct responsibility for driving safe and profitable operations across a national enterprise with thousands of employees.

    You'll be responsible for orchestrating, executing, and optimizing Tilson's project delivery, service provision, business development, and safety, consistent high-quality production.

    This position offers flexibility or the option to operate from any of Tilson's 20+ national offices or remotely, with a high travel expectation for in person, field focused leadership to be with our teams and clients.

    Additionally, the COO plays a crucial role within Tilson's cohesive senior leadership team, working closely with peers such as the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Legal Officer, and EVP Workforce in a highly integrated strategy and planning capacity.

    The ideal person for this role must understand when and how to be a hands-on or executive leader, be a clear and thoughtful communicator, comfortable with change in a highly integrated and innovative systems environment, be a safety leader and partner in all matters, communicate accountability and transparency through KPIs and metric management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Embody Tilson's Mission & Vision: Effectively communicate and lead by example in promoting Tilson's mission, vision, values, and culture in all decision making, placing a strong emphasis on safety leadership.
    • Team Leadership: Recruit, retain, promote, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of national Vice Presidents and Directors, overseeing a 1400+ and growing national workforce.
    • Drive Growth &

    Operational Efficiency:

    Advocate for the expansion of our construction capacity while actively participating in ongoing ERP system implementation alongside the CIO.

    Drive organic company growth, strategize for potential acquisitions, and interface effectively with private equity investors.

    • Goal Setting and

    Performance Measurement:
    Establish and monitor performance and growth objectives, implementing necessary adjustments as required.

    • Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with the CFO to enhance operational profitability, collaborate with the senior leadership team to set company strategy, and contribute to capital plan and acquisition decisions.
    • Business Development &

    Client Relations:

    Lead in business development efforts and nurture key customer relationships, adapting service offerings in response to changing customer needs and market dynamics.


    • The COO will ensure the business operates with discipline, integrity and in accordance with professional standards and its core values through exceptional management and vision of its people, processes, and behaviors to create sustainable growth in existing and new markets.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Team Development: Manage performance expectations, coach, and develop the team to ensure alignment with key business metrics.
    • Operational Infrastructure: Collaborate with the management team to devise and execute plans for operational infrastructure, systems, processes, and personnel in line with the organization's rapid scaling.
    • Reporting &

    Board Engagement:

    Deliver timely, comprehensive reports on the company's operational status to the CEO, Senior Leadership team, and Tilson's Board of Directors.

    Engage with the board to provide updates on operational matters.


    Qualifications:

    • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
    • Direct COO experience preferred.
    • Minimum 10 years' experience in senior operations roles, managing multiple lines of business, overseeing more than 1000 employees, and handling at least $500 million/year in customer revenue.
    • Extensive experience leading substantial growth by scaling employee numbers and revenue.
    • Required telecommunications services or adjacent industry experience, particularly in contracting to carrier customers, with a strong preference for other construction/engineering/utility vertical market familiarity.
    • Profound comprehension of the EPC value proposition encompassing both engineering and construction perspectives.
    • Fluency in the fundamentals of construction job cost accounting, including construction industry WIP principals at both the job and company levels. As well as relevant industry experience with full life cycle P&L Management.
    • Proficiency in contract risk management, contract change management, and claims/dispute resolution.
    • Established network and reputation within the telecom design build services industry.
    • Willingness to travel nationally at least 50% of the time as required by the needs of the business.
    • Positive, collaborative leadership style with a track record of fostering constructive collaboration.
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across all levels.
    • Experience interfacing with private equity investors.

    Tilson leads with integrity around pay transparency; as part of the compensation plan for this position you can expect a pay range of:
