Title - Azure Engineer

Contact type - Contract (6 to 12 months with a high possibility of extension)Role- Hybrid ( 2 days in the Sao Jose office)

The Senior Engineer – Azure is responsible for engineering cloud automation capabilities for Azure Public Cloud.

Azure Senior Engineer will be part of the Cloud Engineering team which is responsible for building automated provisioning and platforming engineering abstraction for improved developer experience.

The Cloud Engineering team ensures public cloud services are provisioned in a timely manner to Business partners.

The Cloud Engineering team also ensures the various public cloud services remain compliant to the highest of security and best practice standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesParticipate in designing solutions for automated provisioning and compliance of various Azure services using cloud-native capabilities and micro-services-based development.

Partner with cross-functional teams in the design and development of various hybrid cloud capabilities. Facilitate design and review sessions between multiple teams including Application Engineering, Operations, Quality and Security teams.

Create design documents, common patterns that facilitate the acceleration of adoption of various cloud services among application teamsDrive innovation through automation of services and capabilitiesDesign, deploy and maintain complex Azure-based infrastructure and solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and securityCollaborate with multi-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for cloud-based projectsDevelop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code templates for deploying Azure resources and cloud foundation.

Create Multi region Cloud foundation and automation for Azure.
Design and developer Self-service Cloud capability delivery.

Required QualificationsBA/BS required, preferably in STEM field3+ years of relevant technology experience2+ years of public cloud (Azure) experience.

Strong expert level skills of Azure services including PaaS serviceStrong hands-on coding skills in Terraform, Groovy to build automation pipeline for deploying resources, team vending on Azure.

Strong background in software engineeringHand-on experience in building solutions using various Azure servicesHands on experience in one or more programming languages preferably PythonHands-on experience developing Cloud agnostic Infrastructure As Code pipeline using TerraformStrong understanding of agile development processes and Agile tool set JIRAUnderstanding of micro-services and REST APIs-based application developmentUnderstanding of GIT-based source code management, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices using tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Groovy ScriptingExperience in developing Azure Policies.

Experience in deployment of multi-tenant Kubernetes platformUnderstanding of basic Linux kernel and window server operating systemExperience in working with bash, PowerShell scripting.

Must be able to solve complex business problems and present recommendations to management effectively.
Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, and decision-making skillsWith little supervision, must be able to define, shape, and drive projects to completion while effectively collaborating strategically with othersStrong verbal and writing skillsMust be results-driven, a quick learner, and a self-starter
