Role Description
This is a full-time, remote role for a Portuguese to English Medical Interpreter. The primary responsibilities include providing accurate and effective interpretation services in medical settings, ensuring clear communication between Portuguese-speaking patients and English-speaking healthcare providers. The role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and the ability to perform both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation as needed. The interpreter will maintain confidentiality, support cultural competence, and ensure that all parties feel valued and understood.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Medical Interpretation and a strong understanding of Medical Terminology
- Expertise in Translation, Interpreting, and Simultaneous Interpretation
- Ability to handle multilingual communication with cultural sensitivity and precision
- Experience providing interpretation services in medical or healthcare environments
- Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to work accurately and quickly
- Relevant certifications in medical interpretation (e.g., CMI, CHI) are highly preferred
- Proficiency with remote communication tools and a reliable internet connection
- A high level of professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
