    Qualifications:

    Boeing Brazil is seeking Flight Control Engineering Manager reporting to the Airplane Systems Senior Management team, working out of the Sao Jose Dos Campos office.

    This role requires strong technical knowledge of the Flight Control system and leadership ability to manage critical work statement within the team.

    This position will manage one or several of the sub-systems groups within BCA (Boeing Commercial Airplanes) Flight Controls Engineering organization, focusing on electronics systems.

    The flight controls electronics organization owns hardware and software development through its life cycle, including system trade studies, flight controls architecture definitions, supplier management and oversight, requirements development, design and analysis, laboratory test, equipment qualification, certification process, customer and fleet support, among other roles.

    This management position will engage in various Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) programs throughout the entire programs life cycle phases including development, certification and sustaining phases related to 787, 737MAX, 777X, research and development and future programs.


    Position Responsibilities:

    • Managing team priorities, work statement, resources and budget allocation
    • People procurement and development
    • Oversight of technical decision-making and engineering quality
    • Reporting and elevating status to senior management
    • Direct coordination with Supplier and/or Customer
    • Performance management and mentorship of an engineering team
    • Coordination with BCA flight control electronics organization
    • Coordination with other Flight Control organizations domains including flight controls integration and control laws/autoflight
    • Cross-functional coordination with other organizations such as Avionics, Crew Ops, Airplane Safety, Aero, System Stress, Production Engineering, and Supply ChainThis position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Employer willing to sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • 3+ years of experience in management or technical leadership role
    • Knowledge of control systems
    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited course of study in Electrical/Electronic engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical engineering or Computer Engineering.
    • Fluent in both written and verbal EnglishPreferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
    • Experience working with systems development and sustaining programs
    • Experience working with aircraft systems architecture definition
    • Experience leading a technical team within a product development program
    • Experience with aeronautical systems development following ARP4754 standard
    • Experience with software development oversight following RTCA DO-178 standard
    • Experience with hardware development oversight following RTCA DO-254 standard
    • Experience with hardware qualification following RTCA DO-160 standard
    • Experience with electronic sub-systems/equipment supplier ́s management and oversight
    • Experience with systems testing at laboratory or rig environment
    • Experience working within a cross functional teams environment
    • Experience with hardware and/or software verticalization projects
    • Experience working with system engineering principles
