Buchanan Technologies is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to assist our business customers with our Managed Service Cloud offerings. This role will use ones operational, tactical, and technical experience to build strong customer relationships in helping Buchanan Technologies customers.

This individual will be part of the Managed Services team responsible for leadership and technology to the line of business. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer provides technical leadership and direction in implementing cloud computing and virtualization practices within the enterprise with a focus on cloud migration. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective cloud computing architecture that enables seamless information interoperability to meet our client's business requirements.

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer is tasked with being the primary focal point within the Managed Services team for the design, development, and implementation of the service management process which conforms with the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) within the Cloud Computing Architecture. This position will report into the Director of Infrastructure within the Managed Services team.

The Team Member will provide direction for cloud-based technology applications and computing services. They will ensure the support of the technology is aligned with the overall technical vision of the business, meets the business goals, and streamlines operations while adhering to hardware and software standards. This position requires technical understanding of server, network and end-user customer environments, including working knowledge of numerous cloud technologies including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud Services. Technical responsibility will include resolution of escalated and complex customer cases from L2 team engineers who have been unable to isolate or fix issues within the Buchanan delivery teams. Customer interactions include overseeing the performance of remote system configuration, troubleshooting, research as well as connectivity and performance issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a central point of contact for delivery related Cloud Computing issues within Managed Services.
• Provides detailed impact analysis assessment for Cloud Computing services, integrations and architectures.
• Provides the technical leadership for developing and optimizing the Cloud enterprise information architecture.
• Designs, develops, and implements plans to translate enterprise information system objectives into functional business systems.
• Defines, develops, maintains, and communicates information exchange standards that are used by systems that interface with the Cloud Computing environments.
• Collaborates with other IT professionals with the enterprise to institutionalize information management policy, standards, and project-related architectural deliverables.
• Develops Cloud Computing migration and transformation plans.
• Communicates with project teams and other stakeholders to keep them apprised of Cloud Computing status and relevant issues of interest to clients and their business areas.
• Aligns Cloud Computing efforts with other counterparts to ensure the overall alignment of architecture components.
• Participates in enterprise-level information technology roadmap planning and information technology governance activities in general.
• Maintain, update, monitor customer systems
• Use company ticketing system to assist the support for customers
• Use of the remote monitoring and management (RMM) company tools for numerous tasks including:
• OS and third-party application patching
• Monitor and management of devices
• Reporting
• Strong knowledge of Azure and AWS solutions
• Advanced troubleshoot Windows server 2012 – 2019
• Including Windows Roles and Features within the Windows server subsystems
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks
• Develop trends by monitoring and analyzing tickets, problems, and support requests
• Ability to apply project management best practices for implementations
• Designs, develops, and maintains the enterprise methodologies and techniques, including standards and guidelines for enterprise-wide use in technical studies and systems development processes.
• Conducts all systems development activities with the focus on ensuring the elimination of duplicative activities, conformance to the enterprise plan, and the ultimate attainment of enterprise and enterprise business goals and objectives.
• Identifies gaps in the Cloud Computing model and addresses them actively in collaboration with other support teams.
• Develops/enforces the change control process for the Cloud Computing environment.
• Monitors and enforces compliance with information standards to minimize redundancies and enhance information quality.
• Ensures that cloud design, implementation and management follow accepted standards and vendor guidelines.
• Creates processes for capturing and defining information/data, standards, modeling models, and documentation.
• Provides information administration guidelines and standards for business requirements analysis and enterprise modeling.
• Provides strategic planning and implementation support for Information Management.
• Develops and maintains information management standards and conventions (e.g., naming standards).
• Mainstreams the Cloud Computing process standards and best practices for information-centric development processes into the systems development lifecycle.
• Establishes procedures to enable the tracking and enforcement of information standards.
• Actively follow-up on audit recommendations related to Cloud Computing and provide a roadmap for remediation.
• Identifies implementation risks; analyzes potential impact on enterprise and scheduled objectives; develops, submits, and maintains enterprise-critical path schedules; and initiates action to correct any deviations from this schedule.
• Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.
• Performs all responsibilities within the guidelines of enterprise policies and directives at or above the enterprise's performance and evaluation standards.
• Organize and communicate regarding assignments and projects to upper management
• Advises Managed Services leadership of project's progress and advise them on key issues to help the decision-making process
• Own and handle Cloud Computing related projects.

Technical knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Five (5)+ years of experience maintaining, operating, and managing cloud environment
• Two (2) years of project coordination experience, or similar experience
• Server operating systems and system administration (Windows and Linux)
• Azure Active Directory architecture, DNS, Endpoint management (Intune), and other Windows based services knowledge
• Cloud computing technologies (O365, Azure, and AWS). Experience in Google CS is a bonus but not required.
• Hands on experience implementing and managing both AWS and Azure Cloud infrastructure solutions using data toolsets
• Knowledge of virtual network topology, infrastructure, and tools (Cisco, Sophos, Watchguard, SonicWALL, PaloAlto, Fortinet)
• Use of MS Office product suite, in particular Excel, Power Point and Word
• Experience in monitoring/management tools
• Prior experience with an ITSM service management ticketing system
