Production Technology determines the conceptual well design, ensures well integrity, optimizes production and helps production manager the life-cycle value of the well.

Production Technology sits on the boundaries of development, wells and production functions - representing production's interests to the other disciplines.

It aspires to be the integrator for delivering wells and production.


What's the role?


Position will be responsible for the execution of Floating Structure Integrity scope of work (Hull and Tank Integrity, Marine Systems & Offloading, UWILD & Moorings), focusing on assurance of predictive maintenance, inspection, repair methodology and execution improvement, process, performance and condition monitoring, as well development and improvement of plans in order to ensure and maximize asset's reliability, availability, maintainability, safety, integrity and cost optimization.


The Marine Lead will also be key interface with Class in Brazil and assure best interest of Shell Brazil in key decision making, been a resource shared between operated assets (SOV), Non-Operated assets (NOV) on strategic support and potential future Shell projects in Brazil.


Primary initial focus will on set on BJSA field and FPSO Fluminense decommissioning activities with later balance to BC10 field and Espírito Santo FPSO and potential future projects like Gato do Mato (GdM).


He/ She will be also involved with regulators, professional bodies, contractors and others Shell global organizations in additional to provide technical assessment report for gap evaluation to Shell Leadership team.

Role will be office (Rio - Ventura) based with eventual need for offshore travel.


Key Responsibilities:

Role will support FPSO naval/ marine scopes in Shell Brazil and main responsibilities and activities will involve:

  • Specific projects status assurance and monitoring the implementation of related FPSO related naval and marine work scope, in addition to its coordination and execution.
  • Review maintenance, inspections, repair plans and guides within the FPSO scope, focusing on Operation's needs, as well as monitoring the KPI's and developing actions plans, in order to guarantee compliance with the Applicable Offshore and Maritime sector Regulation (Class Authority, Brazilian & International Maritime legislation, etc.).
  • Support budget planning for the Floating Structure Integrity Coordination, by providing information based on previous experiences, technical knowledge, frame agreements and best practices of the market.
  • Contribute to the Operation Reliability and its performance, creating longterm tank inspection plan strategy for each vessel, monitoring the schedule and progress of inspection works execution, analyzing results, performing proper root cause assessments, and providing technical review/recommendation when necessary. Moreover, keep internal controls updated with good quality information and providing assurance also to Shell externally.
  • Elaborate technical recommendations or action plans, communicate feedbacks to leadership and management.
  • Contribute to improvement and safety by analyzing MOCs, TQs, performing RCAs, and providing technical recommendations to support the operation team.
  • Work with offshore team on the implementation of recommendations/changes and behaviors influence.
  • Monitor process safety barriers' KPIs and provide technical recommendation, when needed or necessary, to ensure the effectiveness of process safety barriers to maintain the facility's operation within ALARP level.
  • Enhance hull integrity subcontractor management system.
  • Support the execution of internal audits to identify nonconformities, procedures deviations and provide technical recommendations or corrective actions plans regarding the coordination's scope.
  • Ensure that all baseline inspections were performed correctly by reports, identifying gaps and actions. Issue recommendation to improve the results of the repair, identifying execution as per repair plan.
  • Contribute to performance improvement by cooperating with other Shell Tiers, review and when applicable incorporate lessons learnt from other Units.
  • Support EPCI process by providing technical review and O&M cost review through bidding team and preops team.
  • Participate in risk analysis workshops and safety reviews to contribute with Marine Integrity expertise and support the Operations team. That includes HAZIDs, HAZOPs, ASSESSMENT, and others.
  • Contribute to the development and update of documentation by technically supporting the preparation of Process Standards, Work Instructions and internal procedures for documents related to the Floating Structure Integrity & Marine Engineering scope of work.

What we need from you?

  • Bachelor of Mechanical, Civil or Naval Engineering or proof of experienced based equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 +years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
