- Rotation One - Procurement: During this rotation, the candidate will work with procurement working to source the piece parts of the new drivetrain component. This will include working with suppliers on concurrent process and product development (CPPD), to obtain the best price and the most robust supply chain. This candidate will be a key member in all sourcing downselect meetings and creating the documentation to help approve the source through the drivetrain sourcing council process.
- Rotation Two – Manufacturing & Test: The second rotation will focus on determining a robust method on building and testing the component. The focus will be on building the product but also how do we meet the Caterpillar quality goals. To meet these goals, we will need to challenge our existing processes and work with manufacturing engineers to create robust processes.
- Rotation Three – Field Follow: Once the units are built, Brazil is typically a point of emphasis for motor grader field follow. The third rotation will have the candidate focus on the customer and acceptance of the new component. The candidate will serve as a voice to the design team to provide feedback.
- The candidate will be asked to take all the lessons learned from the rotation and apply that to the core engineering team. This candidate will help the team lead structured component New Product Introduction & New Source Introduction development per Caterpillar standard practices while meeting time, cost and quality goals
- Support resolution of CPI and NPI issues using structured problem-solving methods.
- Support NPI/CPI builds and teardowns, as needed
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams locally and others worldwide to drive zero defect focused design and process collaboration
- Actively participate in component and system DFMEAs and PFMEAs as needed
- Communicate technology and project status to supporting teams, project stakeholders, customers, and global manufacturing facilities

Job Description:
The candidate will be placed into a rotational program to enable a new drivetrain component to go from concept to production. Each rotation will closely follow the new component and help advance the component through its lifecycle development. The three rotations will include procurement, Manufacturing & Test, and Field Follow. At the completion of the three rotations, the candidate will be absorbed back into the core engineering team.

Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
Basic requirements:
Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, active CREA required
