About the Role:

This is a role with significant potential for development.

You will be a key member of the Commodity Insights Analytics' LNG team, assisting in the development of the most powerful quantitative tools and methods available.


The Team:


Commodity Insights Analytics is looking for an analyst to focus on quantitative modeling in support of the Global LNG offering.

This role will involve maintaining and helping to build the growing visualization, modeling, and database infrastructure that is used to support the expanding needs of the LNG team.

The role will make use of your knowledge of quantitative methods including:
advanced formulas inside Excel, Power Query editor, DAX inside Power BI, and/or programming (e.g. Python, VBA). There may also be an opportunity to research and write forward-looking market commentary on the LNG industry.


Responsibilities and Impact:

Commodity Insights is a global team responsible for analyzing, interpreting, and forecasting global energy commodities markets and prices.

This exciting role will be pivotal in ensuring our team and our clients have the tools they need to build the most impactful insights from our data and research.


Responsibilities will include:
Maintain Power BI dashboards - front and back-end - to ensure the highest-quality client delivery. Actively test edge cases within these dashboards, troubleshoot errors, and ensure refresh cycles are up-to-date.

Build and maintain documentation on data workflows.

Utilize the existing modeling system to respond to ad hoc queries from internal and external clients.

Update internal economic analysis tools (Excel and Power BI) with our latest team research.


Build internal relationships that will help generate ideas for the integration of cross-commodity analysis to offer greater value to customers.


What We're Looking For:

Advanced Excel skills are required.


Experience with one or more of the following: coding in Excel VBA, developing Power BI visualizations using M/DAX, and/or programming in Python.

Strong verbal and written fluency in English is essential; knowledge of other languages seen favorably.

Excellent communication, concise writing style, and strong presentation skills are a plus.

Motivation to seek out new assignments and act on opportunities.

Comfortable with high levels of individual responsibility and accountability. Proactively ask questions about things not understood.

Demonstrates personal integrity and an openness to continually learn and develop.
