Our TAX OPERATIONS function in LATAM is responsible to keep all tax systems and processes compliant and efficient in the region, adapting as legislation and the business change.

This function is an integral part of our wider Tax and Stats Global Process team within Global Tax, which supports tax process and technology globally, supported by our advisory and compliance teams.

The majority of this team's work is focused on Indirect Tax in Brazil, but supports all taxes across LATAM.


Your Responsibilities:


This role gives YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, the main of these are:

  • Act as the regional Tax and Stats representative for Global Tax for the LATAM region, being the primary point of contact for Finance Directors and Support Function leads in relation to tax process topics, communicating on necessary updates to relevant stakeholders in a clear and commercial manner;
  • Identify and resolve system issues and deliver process improvement opportunities, working with specialist tax experts and third parties where needed;
  • Supporting the outsource tax compliance model and the team overseeing it, including resolving processrelated issues raised by the outsource provider;
  • Overseeing the analysis and implementation of tax regulation changes, and supporting business changes from a tax process and systems perspective;
  • Partnering with other business areas to ensure upstream processes support tax compliance effectively, including the execution of a communication, education and training strategy;
  • Deliver recurring and adhoc tax compliance/technology activities for Brazil such as supporting shoppers with taxcoding POs correctly, and resolving system tax issues with invoices; and
  • Leading and developing a team of 34 tax process experts across two locations (Brazil and Costa Rica)

Basic Qualifications:


We are looking for professionals with these characteristics to achieve our goals:

  • Degree in Accounting or Legal;
  • Strong experience with Indirect Taxes Compliance/ System relations in Brazil;
  • Strong Knowledge in a combination of Tax technology, transformation, compliance and/or advisory;
  • Experience in people management.
  • Excellent communication skills (ability to explain Value Added Tax topics in a way non specialists understand is essential), experience in presenting, and ability to influence stakeholders;
  • Ability to work in culturally diverse teams and reconcile cultural differences to successfully deliver services;
  • Fluent English

Preferred Qualifications:


However, if you have the following, it would be a plus:

  • Tax qualification;
  • Inhouse experience working with a multinational;
  • Advanced Spanish.
