Job Purpose and Impact

The Sustainability Manager will be a key member of the Global Impact Environmental Sustainability Team, and will provide strategic and technical guidance for supply chain sustainability projects and programs to all Cargill businesses in the North America region.

You will be a key member of a global process to identify and test new supply chain solutions.

You will advise on the development and execution of strategic sustainability initiatives with businesses, customers and other external stakeholders that drive progress in key environmental and social impact areas and deliver value to customers and commercial teams.

In this role, you will build partnerships with customers and suppliers across value chains, engage external organizations to advance sustainability frameworks and engage, educate and influence internal and external stakeholders to execute on the organization's purpose to nourish the world in a safe, responsible and sustainable way.

Key Accountabilities


Develop a thorough understanding of Cargill's LATAM supply chain GHG and water footprints, and potential interventions to reduce those footprints.

Ensure LATAM group sustainability teams have the data, insights and tools needed to build and communicate effective supply chain sustainability programs, working closely the Global Impact Data & Analytics, ESG and Communications teams.

Lead (globally across all of Cargill) in one of the following areas:
Developing and managing an innovation process to systematically identify supply chain interventions
Developing additional tools and processes to support management of Cargill's global supply chain project portfolio
Developing and deploying land use change emissions methodologies

Developing and deploying a process to ensure multiple sustainability benefits (GHG, water, resilience, diversity/equity/inclusion, farmer livelihoods, etc.) are considered and included in all supply chain projects.

Support business sustainability teams in interactions with customers to directly and indirectly to ascertain their sustainability related needs and partner with commercial teams to develop and deliver solutions to those needs to ultimately drive business growth.

Identify and work with external partners like nongovernmental organizations, foundations, universities and government offices for identifying potential sustainability solutions.
Represent the company in external stakeholder forums related to sustainability.

Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems.

You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Technical knowledge in environmental, economic and social benefits of sustainable development
Experience in identifying customer needs and developing solutions
Solid related work experience Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge/experience with corporate supply chain and land use change GHG accounting protocols


Experience in at least one of: supply chain sustainability; innovation process development; project portfolio management; corporate strategy.
Experience working in agricultural supply chains.
