IT Systems Specialist

KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Design

Participate in architectural design, system specifications, cost, and timeline estimation for the different implementations
Participate in the recommendation of solutions and/or changes to improve performance, stability, functionality, or system management processes
Design and develop new IT solutions in collaboration with other project teams

Implementation

Contribute to the implementation of new products and ensure the integration of newer concepts to stay up to date with industrial standards
Participate in defining test strategy and perform product testing to ensure the product quality is maintained
Collaborate with the different project teams to implement solutions utilizing industry best practices to ensure usability, scalability, and maintainability
Enforce security best practices

Run & Maintain

Day to day administration including performance tuning and ensure system availability
Provide support to technical queries and assist with user incidents
Monitor the health of the systems and proactively investigate or resolve potential issues that could put the business operation at risk
Participate in the maintenance and patching of the environment to ensure the security, compliance, and stability of the solutions
Provide support outside of business hours for the different activities that requires it. Be available on call to provide 24/7 emergency support to the business

EXTERNAL CANDIDATE PROFILE

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent from a recognized university;
35 years minimum IT experience;
Technical culture in DB administration, System Administration, or infrastructure/operations;
Experience in managing a complex landscape, troubleshooting, and problem resolving skills;
Strong knowledge of MS SQL DB and related tools;

- knowledge of Oracle DB;

Experience in SUSE Linux/windows server;
Selfdriven and solutionoriented;
Excellent communication skills in both English & Sinhala
