Main responsibilities:


  • Maintain the accuracy of material and product records according to the internal standards, review of supplier provided documentation, and guiding any necessary remediation activities.
  • Create records within electronic systems used by Product Safety to maintain material and product compositional and chemical compliance data.
  • Document and author assessments that support human health and chemical regulatory compliance of finished products, taking into consideration identified hazards and exposure according to the intended product use. This includes assessment of scientific literature, evaluation of the toxicological database, determination of appropriate toxicological and other safety endpoints, anticipated exposure assessments and written documentation.
  • Develop new or revised testing protocols with limited assistance from more senior toxicologists or team leader. The incumbent is expected to work within the appropriate systems to direct routine analytical, toxicity and safetyrelated studies to inform the assessment of products and components.
  • Provide input into the development of product safety guidance, safety pointofview papers and health risk assessments to internal and/or external technical experts as well as functional and business unit leaders and management.

Experience and requirements:


  • A degree in toxicology, pharmacology, biomedical or a related scientific field of study
  • Knowledge or Experience performing safety assessment or able to demonstrate the knowledge of risk assessment principles.
  • Knowledge of scientific safety and toxicology practices, principles, and procedures.
  • Excel at indepth technical data review,
  • Interpretation, and communication of data
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills with demonstrated proficiency working effectively with technical staff from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Must be an effective communicator in oral and written correspondences as well as presentation formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build strong relationships, work effectively and independently manage multiple tasks in a crossfunctional business, academic or professional setting.
  • Strong priority setting and ability to manage multiple competing or shifting business priorities.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish and/or Portuguese
  • English. (Written documentation, reading, listening and conversation)

Desirable requirements:


  • Knowledge of chemical safety regulations globally and the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) standards as they pertain to Kimberly-Clark products.
  • Knowledge in regulatory guidance and quality management system requirements associated with the development, commercialization and manufacture of consumer, personal care and professional products.
  • Demonstrated proficiency working within SAP database environments and Microsoft programs.
