Reporting directly to the Senior Director - Global Trade Compliance Operations, the Senior Leader - International Trade Compliance LATAM, will be responsible for leading trade compliance at all GE Aerospace LATAM sites.


The Senior Leader - ITC LATAM will be responsible for overseeing adherence to sanctions and export controls, helping to shape and deploy the strategic vision for obtaining and managing export authorisations in the LATAM region for GE Aerospace.

This will include authorisations required under regional export control and sanctions regulations, and those required under the US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

This position will be responsible for measuring against key performance metrics, and for effective collaboration with ITC Leadership to drive compliant execution across all LATAM locations.

Key responsibilities

  • Establish a collaborative relationship with GE businesses in the LATAM region, deploying and embedding authorisationrelated policies, procedures, and tools to support and drive international business.
  • Support a strong culture of compliance in the effective management of export authorisations and sanctions.
  • Monitor proposed authorisationrelated laws and regulations and provide advice to business stakeholders regarding implications and requirements on GEA's business strategy.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with business unit compliance leads on authorisation management, technology and commodity export transactions.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate recordkeeping policies and procedures and satisfy applicable reporting requirements.
  • Develop and deliver authorisationspecific trade compliance training.
  • Set and execute toward key performance and key risk metrics.
  • Engage Business Leadership to drive business execution.
  • Collaborate with ITC Leadership to drive continuous improvement.
  • Audit compliance to export and sanction laws, and to GE ITC policy.
  • Lead engagement and communication with government officials, as required.
  • Undertake special projects and support other compliance program continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in relevant trade compliance associations and industry group discussions.
Minimum Requirements

  • Strong experience in International Trade Compliance.
  • Previous experience in the management of compliance with U.S. export control and
sanctions regulations outside of the U.S.

  • Previous experience in the management of compliance with LATAM regional export controls and sanctions.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt and grow in an expanding organisation.
  • Commitment to compliance and integrity.
  • Ability to collaborate among all levels of the ITC organisation and business.
  • Ability to learn export control and sanctions regulations in new markets.
  • Selfstarter who can develop effective networks with internal customers and external stakeholders.
Desired qualifications

  • Advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA).
  • Previous experience in building networks.
  • Strong time management, prioritisation, analytical, and organisational skills, with ability to meet deadlines and achieve desired results.
  • Excellent customer relationship, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable and capable of managing multiple initiatives, both collaboratively and independently.
  • Experience in international business, contracts, supply chain, engineering, or relevant discipline.
  • Understanding of the process surrounding assessing jurisdiction and classification of items.
