About the Role

  • Responsible for delivery by and management of a small technical team typically 68 engineers.
  • Estimates effort required for own work, and checks and agrees other team members' estimates. Accountable for planning work assigned to their team, including work breakdown, accurate estimate and identification of possible solution options.
  • Accountable for tracking status of team's work and ensuring deliverables are produced on agreed schedules. Responsible to communicate accurately the status of ongoing work to stakeholders.
  • May be responsible for day to day management of one or more outsource team and may have some responsibility for managing third party deliveries.
  • Sets timeframes and schedules to meet business needs.
  • Leads project planning sessions with clients and Business Analysts to analyze requirements.
  • Defines scope of multiple complex projects.
  • Provides design recommendations and options, develops and integrates programs per specifications.
  • Presents status updates for various projects to project management and senior managers.
  • Ensures self and team develop modules using disciplined processes, adhering to industry standards and best practice guidelines.
  • Provides assistance in researching and adopting new and emerging technologies, evaluating new tools, technologies and platforms to be included in projects.
  • Works with vendors to understand technology and performs technical due diligence on third party technology delivery.
  • May have cost responsibility for own team/project, and/or contribute to forecasting budgets and recommending expenditure without being fully accountable for them.
  • Identifies ways to improve the operation of own area and to achieve efficiencies and results and assists in process improvement.
  • Leads and manages the day to day activities of their team including supporting career development of team (objective setting, performance management, talent management, etc.)

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree or diploma
  • Demonstrable 35 years handson experienced with Scrum and Kanban methodologies
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability work with a mentor and servantleader mindset Former experience as a project manager and knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs
  • Experience providing facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, team empowerment and motivational techniques regarding Agile and Scrum/Kanban
  • Must be a certified Scrum Master, holding either a PSM or CSM
  • Experience managing expectations and building trusting relationships/partnerships
  • Ability to balance several projects across more than one team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
