Position Purpose


The Compliance Manager will manage the execution of the local compliance strategy by assisting the Country Compliance Lead in the effective oversight and controls in business operations and furtherance of the culture of compliance in Pfizer Brazil, with primary focus on Biopharmaceutical business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Model and facilitate a culture of integrity and accountability, implementing the compliance strategy across all business groups and functions incountry;
  • Under supervision of the Country Compliance Lead, ensure effective oversight of Compliance in business operations in the broad ambit of My Anti-Corruption Policy and Procedure (MAPP), local pharma association rules, USA Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), local laws and applicable Corporate Policies & Procedures
  • Partner with and support the local business, with primary focus on Biopharmaceutical business, in furtherance of the development and implementation of the Compliance Program incountry, based on global/regional/local innovative business strategies to proactively identify, assess and mitigate significant compliancerelated risks at design and/or tactical execution levels;
  • Provide reactive and proactive constructive and solutionoriented advice/ support to the business on compliance matters;
  • Accountable for activities involved in developing, implementing, administering, reviewing and/or updating and certifying compliance policies, procedures, and practices;
  • Collaborate with Legal, Global Risk Management and Compliance (RMC), Medical, Medical Quality Oversight (MQO) and other relevant local stakeholders to:(i) advise local management and coordinate or facilitate the implementation of applicable internal policies, procedures, programs and practices related to compliance, (ii) identify emerging risks, (iii) Assist in remediation of identified issues;
  • Ensure existence of an effective training and communication program through execution of the annual compliance training plan, including as applicable, inperson sessions, awareness campaigns, and annual refresher trainings per market needs;
  • Contribute to develop local talent of Compliance Champions for an effective local Compliance program.
  • Collaborate with Compliance Investigations Team to (i) monitor docket of local Referable Compliance Issues (RCIs); (ii) implement interim corrective actions, (iii) implement agreed upon programmatic remediation, as needed;
  • Coordinate the establishment of a local Commercial QMS system built along the principles of continuous improvement (e.g. process & system driven, based on data, root cause analyses and risks).
  • Support global and regional implementation of compliance in Country Organization including provision of input into regional compliance strategy as needed and participation in exchange of best practices to facilitate strengthening of local and global/regional compliance culture
  • Support Country Compliance Lead to represent Pfizer and Pfizer's ethical priorities to external stakeholders (e.g. pharma associations);
  • Coordinate with the Compliance Director and relevant stakeholders to identify trends across Business Units.
  • Collaborate with necessary stakeholders to implement the proper policies and oversight structures to identify and mitigate risks related to third parties in country, including but not limited to Business Development Transactions (e.g. plans for new joint ventures, acquisitions), as required.
  • Execute regional/global escalation protocol for critical issues and matters within the compliance function
  • Work in conjunction with the other risk management functions to propose preventive plans, based on root cause analysis;
  • Manage the local Risk Management Forum
  • Understand the Pfizer ́s business and policies, in order to identify improvement and simplicity opportunities, proposing new ideas (innovative thinking).
  • Approve, as Compliance, the required transactions within the system.
  • Assist in remediation of issues identified by investigations, audits, or other monitoring.
  • Other projects as determined by leadership in the Compliance Division.
Qualifications (i.e., preferred education, experience, attributes)

  • University Degree in Business, Law or Finance with strong academic background.;
  • 35 years of professional experience in Compliance, Audit, Governance or other businessrelated area.
  • Solid Understanding of US FCPA and pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience is preferred;
  • Local experience with US companies and International experience is a plus.
