We are now looking to hire a Specialist Tax Manager in a role which is very dynamic and hands-on, including all facets of Brazilian tax matters.

You will be responsible for supporting all Hydro business areas, group staff functions, service providers, and colleagues in the global Finance function in handling complex tax matters involving domestic and cross-border transactions.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for tax planning, managing all administrative and judicial tax litigations, interaction with Federal, State and Municipal Tax Authorities and legal tax advice for the group to efficiently handle tax related issues.
Coordinate and review proceedings prepared by external lawyers to guarantee the best strategy adopted and proper arguments. Follow up of chance of loss for tax disputes and litigations
Define the strategies to be adopted for each proceeding, providing advice on whether to appeal tax assessments, take administrative tax decisions to court and appeal court decisions.
Support on selection of external legal counsel.
Evaluate the risks of an assessment and evaluate the probability of winning to provide the necessary support for business decision.
Provide internal consultancy on the tax legal aspects of complex transactions/projects/agreements that are performed to guarantee tax compliance, mitigate risk and optimize results.
Provide tax technical support in connection with tax benefits and special treatments.
Closed interaction with Federal, State and Municipal Tax Authorities.
Support on tax inspections aiming to proper provide information regarding the companies' activities and act preventive in connection with any tax dispute.
Support in connection with internal and external audits related to tax matters.

Qualifications:

Graduation in Law and postgraduation in Tax Law.

Experience:

Graduation in Law and postgraduation in Tax Law.
Experience in Law Office and Corporations with Tax Litigation and Consultancy.
Experience in transactional support, including advising on tax consequences of bids, covenants & guarantees and contracts in general.
Experience in managing complex administrative and judicial tax litigations (experience in Brazilian Civil Procedural Law, Tax Proceedings and all reporting related to administrative and judicial tax litigation).
Experience in discussion tax matters with an accounting perspective.
Experience in M&A transactions and Corporate Reorganizations in general (tax legal due diligence).
Experience in International Taxation (Transfer Pricing, Double Tax Treaties, BEPS, etc).
Litigation and advisory experience in the Energy and Oil & Gas' sector is preferred.
Experience with Tax Benefits and Special Treatments (Validity, Requests, Negotiations, etc).
Experience with Tax Rulings
Fluency in English is madatory
