Accounting Assistant

Location: Rio Office
BR
Role Summary:The Accounting Assistant position will be a key member of the Brazil finance team and report directly to the Financial Accounting and Reporting manager. We are looking for this role to enhance controllership, compliance and improve our accounting and financial processes.

Essential responsibilities:

Perform monthly/quarterly financial close activities to ensure process is completed accurately and timely
Input invoices and tax payments into the banking system
Issue external and intercompany invoices
Prepare monthly journal entries (Payroll accruals, expenses reclass, depreciation and amortization, etc.)
Prepare monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and reconcile bank statements to the general ledger monthly
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
Support the review of accounting and tax statutory requirements/fillings

Qualifications/ Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of professional experience
Bachelor ́s degree in Accounting
Advanced proficiency in MS Office, primarily Excel and PowerPoint
Advanced English proficiency: spoken and written

Desired Characteristics:

Prior experience with ERP implementations (Oracle, SAP, IFS, etc)
Team player with a positive "can do" approach, and problemsolving skills
Selfmotivated with strong attention to details
Working Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
