Investment Officer (Full time; 40 hours; Sao Paulo, Brazil)

Oikocredit's Country Office Brazil is looking for an Investment Officer (40 hours) to be based in Sao Paulo. The Investment Officer is part of Hub for Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay and reports to the Investment Manager.


The Investment Officer will work with internal and external experts as required in the best interests of our partners and Oikocredit.

He/she will act as a second relationship manager, translating market developments and client needs into opportunities to create impact and do business.

Although specialized in a specific sector, the Investment Officer is conversant with Oikocredit's strategy, sectors and its products & services.


The Investment Officer responsibilities include:

  • Building, maintaining, and monitoring a portfolio of investments in Brazil, following leadership and guidance from the senior management and investments officers.
  • Focusing on commercial activities and working closely together with specialists at regional level
  • Co responsibility for the country ́s portfolio performance and quality check of new proposals
  • Identifying the needs and opportunities that would benefit from the financial resources made available by Oikocredit
  • Co responsibility for maintaining the local networks; representing Oikocredit at conferences and events.
  • Support the due diligence and preparing EPTs, supporting the closing of deals and disbursements, monitoring, and supporting capacity building projects.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in the field of finance and banking, business administration or economic development.
  • At least 4 years of experience in banking, market analysis, and economic development
  • Knowledge of inclusive finance and social impact
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Familiarity with financial analysis using advanced financial modeling.
  • Solid understanding of and ability to evaluate company financial statements.
  • Good business acumen and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Extensive user skills of Microsoft Excel and computer literacy in general
  • Excellent written and verbal command of English. Spanish will be considered as plus.

Desirable:


  • Experience in impact financing and more particularly in financial inclusion (Credit Co
- ops, Microfinance, SMEs finance, FinTech's)

  • Experience in foreign lending, capital markets, securitization, trade finance.
  • Field experience in different regions of Brazil.
