We are now looking for
Field Service Technicians to join our skilled team. The preferred location for the position is
Rio de Janeiro area, Brazil

What will you be doing?


The position is open to applicants in Brazil, to fully support external and internal customers in the central and eastern regions of the USA and Canada, as well as various other time zones.

This position reports to the Coordinator Field Service Resources.


Accountabilities:

In this position, you will perform Service activities (such as overhauls and repairs) on 4-stroke marine diesel engines.


For us to be the best match, we expect you to have technical experience in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul.

You will also have a safety-first attitude.


Responsibilities:

Perform overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke medium-speed engines.

  • Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.
  • Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.
  • Assistance in creating the Service Work Reports.
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
  • Followup and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders.
  • Continuously seek solutions according to best practices.

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • A safety-first mindset.
  • A passion for developing your 4stroke knowledge to the next level.
  • A Technical degree in a relevant field (mechanics, automation, naval, or others).
  • A completed or inprogress Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a plus
  • English is needed at intermediary or advanced level
  • Technical experience in reciprocating engine repair and overhaul with practical problemsolving skills.
  • Experience in installation, operation, and maintenance of turbochargers, pumps, heat exchangers, fuel systems, lubrication systems, and cooling systems.
  • Interact professionally and deliver solutions to customers during the work execution.
  • Experience with 4stroke engines, preferably low and medium speed.
  • Experience in working with electrical systems is a plus.
