Our Claims professionals support AIG policyholders through some of the most trying times.

Our Claims team is an industry leader, drawing daily on its unparalleled levels of expertise to offer our clients the highest levels of stewardship to drive total cost of claim improvement and consistent outcomes.

AIG manages claims using a wealth of technical and market knowledge about risks, business practices, and the ever-evolving legal and regulatory environment.

About the role


What you need to know:


To handle a Marine Claims portfolio with timely and accurate resolution, ensuring mitigation of indemnity and expense exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders.

Provide a high standard of customer service and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities:


  • Managing claims within authority limits and providing a consistently strong standard of customer service;
  • Create a local and international losses report, including multinational accounts procedures;
  • Participate in internal and external meetings with partners/brokers/reinsurers/providers/etc;
  • Ensuring effective vendor management;
  • Strive for continuous improvement on claim file handling with feedback and support through the Quality Assurance Review processes;
  • Support a client review in Profit Center meetings;
  • Participate in a loss prevention committees;

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong written & verbal communication
  • Advanced English Skills is a plus
  • Ability to work with claims stakeholders to effectively direct claims strategy
  • Strong knowledge in technical claims topics (Marine Cargo, Liabilities and Loss Prevention);
  • Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation;
  • Ability in negotiation, mediation and alternative dispute resolution;
  • Experience in effectively following up on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous claim handling improvement.
