Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing guidance, direction and support primarily to internal stakeholders of Harley-Davidson in Latin America region, in one or more legal practice areas. Provides guidance to legal support staff, manages outside counsel, implements tactics, policies and procedures and represents the Company with external stakeholders. Understands forward-looking business concerns, is part of solution development, and implements sound legal strategies that position the Legal Department to support their stakeholders and business strategies.
Job Responsibilities
· Provides sound legal advice that is responsive to the business needs of Harley-Davidson, in one or more practice areas, including Dealer matters, Consumer, Employment, and Contracts.
· Support the regional leadership regarding strategic and complex matters.
· Responds to internal clients needs consistent with corporate strategies and objectives.
· Assumes a leadership role in actively supporting the Legal Department quality initiatives. Seeks continuous improvement opportunities within scope of responsibility.
· Tracks legal trends and makes recommendations for continuous improvement as appropriate for Harley-Davidson.
· Manages and participates in the preparation, negotiation, and interpretation of contracts. Manages litigation matters.
· Prepares and implements policies and practices in response to legal and regulatory requirements. Prepares and delivers training regarding legal and regulatory requirements.
· Represent the Company with external stakeholders. Participates in the development of long and short term strategies, tactics and policies and procedures.

Required
· Experience in a law firm or corporate legal department experience.
· Outstanding verbal communication skills, fully fluent in both English and Portuguese, is a mandatory requirement.
· A high level of integrity, excellent judgment and analytical skills, and the ability to identify all relevant issues. Ability to develop long and short-term strategies, tactics policies and procedures.
· Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills (including good listening skills) and the ability to achieve positive outcomes through influence.
· The ability to lead and work well in a team environment.
· Organization, planning, and research skills.
· An ability to provide sound legal advice that is responsive to the business needs of Harley-Davidson as well as responds to clients' needs consistent with corporate strategies and objectives.
· An appreciation and awareness of the legal/business interface.
· An ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
