Quality Manager - Santa Cruz do Sul/RS

What this position is about - Purpose:

The incumbent's overall objective is to effectively manage the activities of the Quality department ensuring the implementation and maintenance of company standardized methods of measurement and monitoring of product quality.

The incumbent is to ensure that the products are produced within defined quality standards to meet/exceed the customer expectations and state regulations.


What will you do - Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and company product quality requirements and standards:

  • Ensure company Quality Plan is implemented and production process is monitored on compliance with product specifications and manufacturing standards
  • Ensure all mandatory quality measuring equipment (QME) is in place, operational, properly maintained, calibrated and delivering accurate measurement results
  • Ensure correctness and availability of the product quality data and performance reports
  • Coordinate timely and effectively all process & product quality related unconformities and in cooperation with all relevant factory internal and company functions

Manage Factory Quality team and activities:

  • Manage daily work of laboratory operators and technicians, ensuring the most efficient tasks allocation and required workforce resources
  • Ensure quality team development and training needs are identified and with specific people development programs behind
  • In collaboration with Factory management and P&C team develop and maintain succession plan for quality function / team members
  • Ensure material and delivery of Factory Product & Process Quality training plan for all relevant factory functions & positions
Advising direction and developing mid / long term plans and strategies relating to Factory Quality function

  • With support of Factory Management team and other relevant company functions, ensure Factory Quality related business plans are developed, in place and followed on effectiveness
  • Identify improvement needs and programs to ensure delivery of ASP committed Quality KPI commitments
  • Support other factory functions, as needed, in achievement of overall factory plans and projects
  • Plan Quality function required budget needs, monitor on spending accuracy and with continuously identifying optimization opportunities in line with business needs
Support Factory CapEx, New Product Development, Performace & Cost optimization projects and where applicable by:

  • Ensuring product quality criteria, specifications availability and tests execution meeting project planned timelines
  • Internal quality & performace data analyses, improvement needs identification and communication with all relevant functions
  • New quality standards are assessed on applicability / benefits / risks and communicated & set in practice with appropriately trained team members
Ensure company procedures & and processes are followed / implemented respectively as below listed:

  • Lead Quality Management Systems and manage ISO 9001 requirements implementation & certification for overall factory operation processes
  • Compliance with all company and locally required EHS standards, standards understanding, implementation with identified improvements in place in order to maintain a healthy and safe workplace for Factory Quality team as minimum,
  • Deployment of all Global and local company programs & campaigns to quality team, and supporting factory management team for overall factory deployment

People Management in collaboration with P&C:

  • Act as a mentor for the development of his/her team and follow development plans.
  • Act on engagement actions according EES results
  • Develop a successor for his/her position

Who are we looking for - Requirements:

  • University degree in related field
  • Professional experience in a similar managerial position
  • Fluency in Portuguese & English is required. English language for effective verbal and written communication.
