The Director of Language Quality is responsible for language quality of all localized courseware materials created by KnowBe4 and its subsidiaries.

They constantly monitor the data related to customer usage, ratings, and tickets, tracking both the linguistic accuracy and cultural acceptability of training materials.

They support internal stakeholders regarding KnowBe4's localization quality efforts and counsel the Localization Quality Assurance Manager on the strategic direction of the operation.

They are responsible for managing the development and maintenance of Localization Quality Assurance (QA) standards and working with local resources around the world to ensure KnowBe4 delivers accurate, relevant, high-quality translations of KnowBe4's vast library content.


Responsibilities:


  • Provide executive oversight of and documentation for the creation of localization checklists
  • Regularly audit localization work from vendors and local incountry resources to ensure accurate, highquality, fully localized/translated content through use of data and through actual review
  • Provide oversight of vendors' and local offices' localization efforts to make sure KnowBe4 publishers adhere to set standards
  • Respond to reviews of content and answer questions of internal KnowBe4 staff, customers and prospects about localization quality and processes
  • Review and respond to internal and customer tickets and feedback
  • Work with the Sr. Director of Quality Assurance to make sure that content is "global first" and ready to be localized wherever appropriate
  • Provide training and guidance to KnowBe4 staff/contractors who produce content in other languages and/or are localizing content
  • Perform cultural review of content and review feedback from customers regarding cultural feedback
  • Contribute to continual improvement of our processes, quality and efficiency as we grow
  • Direct efforts related to maintenance of language style guides and QA family language guides
  • Create and manage documentation for localization best practices and procedures
  • Localize short pieces of content for rush timelines
  • Take an active role in creating and supporting content that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive as outlined in the KnowBe4 DEI statement
  • Ensure content is Web Content Accessible Guidelines (WCAG 2.2) compliant so that our content is accessible to all users
  • Provide genuine recommendations as to the hiring, firing, promotion, and discipline of subordinate employees to which the Company gives significant weight

Requirements:


  • Masters Degree in Linguistics, International Studies, or equivalent experience
  • Fluency in English in addition to one of the following languages: French, Japanese, German, Spanish or Portuguese
  • Minimum 5 years in localization of content with at least 2 in a leadership position
  • Proficiency with a Translation Management System (TMS)
  • Data analysis using tools like MS Excel
  • Preparing presentations using MS PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
