The ICCT is looking for a Communications Specialist to join our Brazil office in São Paulo, working to support the transition of the transport sector towards zero-emission technologies.

As Communications Specialist, you will lead the development and implementation of strategic communications for ICCT's work in Latin America in partnership with ICCT's global Communications Team and the research staff of the Latin America region.

Our research is focused on the four core markets of Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico, with future expansion into other countries as our team continues to grow.

You will ensure that our high-quality and policy-relevant work reaches the right audience at the right time for maximum impact.

The position will form part of ICCT's Communications Team and work closely with project managers and research staff. This position will report to the Communications Manager based in San Francisco, CA.

You Will

  • Lead the development and implementation of a communications and outreach strategy in each of our key programs in Latin America, including stakeholder outreach, media outreach, and social media content creation
  • Write press releases, infographics, media pitches, and factsheets, summarizing the key elements of ICCT's research around events and/or publications launches
  • Work with the global Communications Team to create graphics, infographics, and other digital content, like videos, to promote key events and publication launches
  • Organize and moderate virtual and inperson events, such as webinars and workshops
  • Coordinate the translation of communications pieces into English, Spanish, and Portuguese
  • Develop and jointly manage an editorial calendar for publications, blogs, webinars, and other communications elements relevant to the projects in the region
  • Develop and maintain media contact lists for the region; forge strong working relationships with media contacts in our four core markets (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico), and throughout the region
  • Contribute content for ICCT's website and social media channels for Latin America work
You Have

  • A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or other related disciplines. A master's or other graduatelevel degree is a plus.
  • 25 years of directly relevant experience in journalism, communications, or a related field
  • Experience writing content for print
- or web-based publications

  • Social media management and contentcreation experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Fluency (both written and verbal) in English and Spanish and/or Portuguese. (Fluency in all three is highly desirable)
  • A demonstrated interest in environmental issues
  • Work experience with research organizations and/or civil society is a plus

Our Benefits:

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) based in ICCT's São Paulo Brazil office located in the Vila Madalena neighborhood.

The position provides a monthly starting salary of R$12,044. We offer an excellent benefits package including health insurance, paid vacation and family leave and hybrid office/remote flexibilities.
