About the Position:


Global Health Strategies is seeking an intelligent and passionate professional with expertise in global health issues and a significant understanding of public health policy and public affairs regarding the Brazilian public health landscape.

The temporary senior associate will support public health and development projects, focusing on neglected diseases, vaccines, and health research.

The temporary senior associate should have solid project management skills, and familiarity with government and institutional relations with a focus on public health.


Key responsibilities:


  • Support planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of projects in the health research and innovation space, especially on vaccines and malaria.
  • The senior associate will act as a focal point for the issues related to the project, meeting the partners' and client's requests, being responsible for collecting, systematizing and analyzing all project information and developing necessary materials to support programmatic activities (i.e. context briefs, scientific communication pieces, meeting briefs and reports).
  • Track and manage government relations and timelines related to project activities, ensuring deliverables are met on schedule.
  • Develop activity reports and track financial information for the project.
  • Organize, participate, coordinate and facilitate meetings and conference calls with the team and the client.
  • Support GHS health projects in Latin America.

Essential Qualifications:


  • Minimum professional experience of 5 (five) years in the areas of project management in the public health or development fields
  • Bachelor's degree in health or social sciences, with postgraduate studies in Development, Public Policies, International Relations, Public Health, or related areas
  • Experience in research and program implementation on health and development issues
  • Extensive knowledge of vaccines and malaria (and/or other infectious diseases)
  • Extensive knowledge of stakeholders and trends in the field of public health in Brazil
  • Experience and skills in producing highquality technical documents, presentations and reports
  • Fluent in English

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in clinical research, epidemiology, and regulatory health issues in Brazil
  • Experience and skills in dealing with sensitive issues, consensus building, networking and/or clinical research collaborations, especially with nongovernmental organizations and research institutions
  • Experience in financial and administrative project management, and development of reports to clients and partners
  • Fluent in Spanish
