Position:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead our Finance area.

This individual will serve as the central liaison between the Global finance team and the Local office, tasked with translating business requirements seamlessly between the local and global contexts.


Main responsibilities:

  • Maintain relationship with current and future local accountancy providers and ensure delivery of financial accounts and tax compliance in a timely and accurate manner
  • Responsible for the preparation of the monthend reporting including preparing and posting monthend close journals, for example, payroll, accruals, prepayments, depreciation and intercompany reconciliations
  • Prepare monthend reporting including Balance Sheet reconciliations and ensuring our management reporting ledger matches our statutory ledger managed by our local accountancy provider
  • Reporting and talking stakeholders through financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting in Brazil, supported by the Global Finance team
  • Work with the Financial Reporting team in the UK to enact any corrections and additional postings required to prepare for yearend reporting including review and clear down of all financial systems. Post yearend to prepare reporting required for the audit and statutory reporting
  • Review employee expense claims to ensure they adhere to the company policies
  • Prepare payment runs and weekly bank reconciliations
  • Support the global accounts receivable team on all client invoicing in Brazil
  • Support the team with client and project onboarding in Brazil including preparing project passports, contracts and setting up the systems accurately
  • Support the global grants team in budgeting, financial monitoring and reporting and audits
  • Proactively staying on top of legal and tax considerations
  • Assist the wider finance team with any adhoc requests and tasks, and additionally provide support to the global payroll team
  • Critically assess the existing processes and procedures to suggest ways to improve efficiency
  • Maintaining a strong financial control framework for the organisation globally

Requirements:


Experience/Requirements:
- +4 years of experience working with Accounting (GAAP/IFRS), Tax and Compliance.

  • Verbal and Written fluency in English and Portuguese
  • Experience in working on project noncorporate clients and donors
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Financial software and project management systems
  • Ability to maintain high level of accuracy
  • Ability to preserve client and firm confidentiality
  • BSc degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting
