OneRigid Lead

Job description:


  • Coordination of all scopes relating to rigid pipeline engineering on either a study, tender or project.
  • At the early stage of Study and Tenders, OneRigid Lead is responsible to provide all input necessary to the Technical Study Manager, Front End Manager the technical input required to the Technical Strategy Meeting (TSM) and especially to identify in the Rigid Scope of Work any element which would either be "NEW" either "UNIQUE" or "DIFFICULT". In this duty, the OneRigid Lead will interact with all relevant specialist and leaders within OneRigid and more specifically with the first elevation level of OneRigid as defined in the TSM process.
  • Coordination of all the engineering aspects of rigid pipeline as a subsystem (Thermo-Mechanical Design, Inplace, Flex Joint, Stress Joint, Inline structures, ancillaries such as sleepers, free span correction, VIV strakes, lateral buckling mitigation equipment's, distributed buoyancy modules, among other and Geotechnical) as well as collecting input from, but also providing and defining inputs to:
  • Pipe line spool base assembly, fabrication and
  • Pipe line Installation.
  • Ensure all customer specifications / requirement including but not limited to installation aspects related to spooling & installation, testing and precom are fully integrated into the overall rigid pipeline subsystem engineering. While day to day coordination during project execution of installation engineering remains within project operations manager, OneRigid Lead remain accountable of interfaces with Reel Lay VDT for the Rigid Pipeline engineering as an installed subsystem.
  • Responsible for the effective delivery of the rigid pipeline as an engineered subsystem fit for purpose.
  • Responsible for the rigid pipeline engineering execution scope, within the given schedule (OTD) and budget and as per Internal Quality requirement (Design Reviews, Engineering Gates, constructability reviews as per GBPMS and K21 or other Engineering Quality KPI) through proactive interaction and coordination of all the relevant stakeholders along the chain.
  • Shares and integrates any lessons learned to ensure optimisation of the delivery process on forthcoming works.
  • Proactively seeks design or methodology improvements that would enhance the safety, schedule and cost of a project.
  • Mitigation and reduction of technical risks exposure
- _Hierarchically reports to: Engineering Directors (Executing Center) & OneRigid VP only during the assignment._

  • Operationally reports to Study / Tender Technical Manager, during Tender and FEED and to Project Engineering Manager on the specific project/s worked on during Project Execution assignment._


Receives mandates and objectives from Study / Tender Technical Manager / Project Engineering Manager as well as from OneRigid Leads Champion wrt method, tools, practices to apply.


Directly supervises:

No HR supervising role, unless future OneRigid Lead in "on the job training" but mainly supervising/coordination of several contributors to the rigid pipeline engineering chain.

  • Holding a high-quality honours degree or equivalent in a relevant field of engineering such as Mechanical, Naval or Civil Engineering with solid knowledge of materials (metallic and plastic).
