Job Purpose and Impact


This role will sit on the business leadership team with accountabilities to both the FIBI R&D Leader - Americas and the Managing Director for our FIBI South American business.

Partner collaboratively with specific businesses and external related stakeholders to develop and leverage technology innovations, identify emerging trends and deliver research programs aligned with business and customer/consumer needs to continuously support the business growth.

Foster strategic disruptive ideas to create opportunity spaces from scientific knowledge across multiple business groups and regions.
Provide expert resources and capabilities to support specific development projects within business innovation portfolios.

Partner with other business leaders to enable the development of strategies, processes and control mechanisms to ensure compliance with specific laws, regulations and company policies while providing leadership to establish procedures and tools to manage the intellectual assets.

Influence and balance area programs and investments appropriately between mature and high growth products to reflect business priorities and strategic plans.

Create and maintain the budget and expenses for the related team, align resources to deliver on strategic plans and develop programs that create operating efficiencies.

Build and maintain capabilities in the region that reflect current and future business appetite

Serve as a key member of the Americas R&D leadership team and work integrally as part of the global One R&D team.

Provide strategic and transformational leadership, development and talent management activities for direct reports and their organizations, which may include forecasting resource needs, recruiting, hiring, performance management, training and budgeting.

You will also collaborate with managers and supervisors in your organization to ensure staff selections align with current and future needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
Solid related work experience and supervisory experience
Fluent English, Portuguese and Spanish
Other minimum qualifications may apply

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Proven business acumen and leadership/influence with commercial colleagues
Proven leadership of a team of cross R&D disciplines
Master's degree in a scientific discipline
Experience leading the development of a network of external alliances with potential partners and prominent research organizations
Broad expertise in chemistry, material science, food or human animal nutrition
