    Description
IFC has embarked on an ambitious new growth strategy (IFC 3.0) to stimulate more investment activity in frontier markets.

This strategy calls for generating our own opportunities by proactively working "Upstream" to create, deepen, and expand markets and to imagine, design and implement investment projects.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support transaction execution of earlystage upstream and advisory transactions. Review and produce summary reports of company financial statements or other required documentation for potential Upstream and Advisory transactions.
  • Manage and process transaction activities including drafting relevant transaction documentation, conducting due diligence, coordinating the processing activities and collaborating closely with relevant climate, industry, E&S, regional and investment teams to ensure alignment.
  • Support pipeline monitoring and portfolio reporting activities by producing highquality periodic transaction pipeline reports including monitoring progress against business KPIs, project milestones and key performance indicators.
  • Help spot new trends and business opportunities by conducting industry and regionspecific mappings and data analysis in support of business development efforts of Senior members of the team. Extract, manipulate, and present data from internal and external data sources.
  • Contribute to the development of highquality Upstream and Advisory initiatives and interventions through research, analytical, and operational work. Coordinate with World Bank Group (WBG) stakeholders as required.
  • Manage procurement of external consultants, including drafting TORs and facilitating the selection process. Liaise with finance and procurement teams on issuing and managing consultant contracts.

Selection Criteria

  • Master's degree or equivalent professional qualification in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Science, Engineering, or another related field.
  • Up to 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong financial modeling skills. Excellent understanding of financial statements and experience manipulating complex financial models. Advanced Excel, PowerPoint preparation skills.
  • Outstanding and demonstrated history of analytical, creative problem solving, attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills with the ability to distill, summarize and effectively present large amounts of information from various sources to prepare business documents and presentations.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, ability to take initiative and work across organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to conduct market and sector research/analysis, industry mappings and summarize findings with limited and broad guidance and supervision.
  • Familiarity with project development, transaction execution and financing of real assets of private sector clients in one or more manufacturing verticals in which IFC invests is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills in English. Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese strongly preferred.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and function effectively in a fastpaced environment under tight deadlines, while working on multiple projects.
  • Genuine dedication to development and to the World Bank Group and IFC's mission, strategy, and values. Understanding of IFC's strategic priorities and changing business model against the backdrop of IFC 3.0.
