Ingredient Development Specialist SA - Syrups and RefineryLOCATION: Mogi Guaçu, Brazil-REPORTS TO: Ingredient Development Director- The Ingredient Development Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Core Responsibilities:
  • Execution of new ingredient development with specialization in Syrups and Refinery products, leading all technical initiatives within these process as project technical owner:
  • Investigation studies, laboratory testing, pilot testing, cost evaluation, product documentation generation (specifications, register, manufacturing instructions), industrial trials and scaling up studies for industrial level production (for R&D products as well as exploratory works).
  • Depth knowledge of ingredients portfolio which enables him/her to:
  • Participate in the selection process of the ingredients that best fit the strategy in the region;
  • Conduct technical training on the platform ingredients to all SA G2M team;
Support Innovation strategic planning with concepts & ideas that best fit the Market & customer requirements;

  • Support industrial plants along fabrication of new developed ingredients;
  • Deep understanding of the technical differences or pros and cons of our products compared to competitor ́s products;
  • Evaluate intelectual properties and restrictions to confirm freedom to operate (patent);
  • Evaluate alternative product fabrication opportunities that can bring benefits to Company or customers, related to costs (raw materials, imports, packing), availability and capacity.
  • Generate a regional & global network that enables SA to gain information and insights on new projects, success cases and lessons learned for a technical perspective;
  • Participate in the definition, planning and assessment of technology partnerships that enables us to grow our ingredients portfolio regionally;
  • Investigation and studies of new concepts, ideas and processes for development of innovative products to enhance current company portfolio;
  • Bachelor's degree in Food or Chemical Engineering or Food Science;
  • Experience in technical area: R&D, process engineering
  • Desirable previous knowledge in Ingredion products portfolio;
  • Proficiency in Spanish and English;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly developed interpersonal skills.

  • Advanced proficiency with windowsbased software programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Moderate availability to travel (25 percent);
