- Limit the damage to persons or property in the event of an incident or emergency.
- Identify calibration requirements for Laboratory and field test equipment.
- Monitor adherence to calibration requirements.
- Calibrate equipment/arrange for calibration of equipment as required.
- Report and record calibration details within appropriate documentation
- Order stocks to maintain minimum levels.
- Receive and store stock, (including bunkering of chemicals) as required.
- Optimize stock usage to maintain levels at all times.
- Issue stock / ensure that adequate levels are available for other users.
- Process incoming and outgoing communications.
- Receive and relay oral and written messages, data, logs, etc.
- Supply information for specific purposes/tasks.
- Communicate with Supervisors, peers, and external parties accurately, concisely, and promptly.
- Unplanned discharges to the environment are identified, halted where possible, and reported according to policy, procedure and regulation.
- Relevant PPE is used to deal with unplanned discharges using company procedures
- Equipment, waste, or other materials for disposal are dealt with according to the correct procedure.
- Environmental protection and pollution control are enforced effectively with colleagues, subordinates, and subcontractors.
- Carry Out Emergency Response role
- Demonstrate competence during Emergency Response drills and training exercises.
- Qualification in Chemistry required.
- 2 years of experience as a Laboratory Technician in the hydrocarbon processing industry (FPSO experience preferred).
- Practical understanding of Permit to Work, Mechanical Standards, and Risk Assessment.
- Medically fit with offshore International standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.
- Personal Skills: Personal: Safety aware. Positive, assertive, conscientious. Able to work well with all levels of personnel. Leadership: Good levels of written and spoken communication. Innovative with initiative. Good presentation skills. Technical: Analytical, good standard of technical and professional knowledge, of safety systems and hazards of hydrocarbon and utility systems. COSHH awareness. IT: Use standard Management System 'Office' package and electronic mail system.
