The Business Intelligence team conducts corporate investigations, uncovers actionable business intelligence, supports clients in commercial disputes, and provides clear analysis to help decision-makers address and mitigate risk, protect assets, and maximize opportunities in a variety of jurisdictions worldwide.

Its expertise lies in investigative due diligence, asset tracing, fraud and anti-corruption investigations, litigation support, whistle-blower allegations, third-party integrity screening, political risk assessments and other bespoke engagements.

As a Senior Director in the Business Intelligence team, you will have the opportunity to work on cross-segment projects with other teams within Forensic and Litigation Consulting, such as Forensic Accounting Advisory Services, Financial Services, and Data and Analytics, as well as other practices within FTI Consulting, such as Strategic Communications, Economic and Financial Consulting, and Technology.

What You Will Do

A Senior Director will lead on a range of complex and multi-jurisdictional projects, including investigative due diligence, asset traces, fraud investigations and geopolitical risk assessments, from both a research and project management standpoint.

Senior Directors are expected to support and coordinate the output of senior and junior analysts, as well as conduct independent, first-class research and analysis, drawing upon the range of search engines and databases generally available, and those available to the company, while working on multiple assignments simultaneously.

As a segment leader, they will often be relied upon to drive research forward, demonstrating flexibility, critical thinking, and the ability to identify relevant lines of inquiry.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Utilize advanced knowledge and logical reasoning skills to provide complete client services.
  • Work to ensure a quality product, as well as deliver all work within established timeframes.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and other deliverables for third parties, setting out findings and/or results of the agreed scope of work.
  • Interact directly with clients, lawyers and senior personnel.
  • Track progress of cases and monitor workflow of different matters.
  • Contribute to identifying and developing resources useful for investigative research;
  • Contribute to management of the Business Intelligence practice through active involvement in practice development activities.
  • Undertake business development activities and develop professional network.

Basic Qualifications, Skills & Competencies

Senior Directors are exposed to high-profile and intellectually demanding work and need to have the ability to identify key issues, think creatively, and work as part of a team.

Strong research and analytical skills are required, together with an eye for detail, and, most importantly, an inquisitive nature coupled with a clear belief in honesty and integrity.

Additionally, the following are required:
- previous experience in intelligence, investigations or related industry of ten years or more;
- a minimum Honours Degree in relevant disciplines such as Political Science, Law, Economics, Business, International Affairs, or similar;
- proficiency in writing and verbal communications skills in Portuguese and English (an additional language such as Spanish is desirable);
