Learn more about working at UNDP including our values and inspiring stories.**The Projects Management Unit of the Governance and Justice for Development Department is in the process of recruiting a new IT Project Associate to provide support for innovative projects within the area.


The Governance and Justice for Development Unit team works in an integrated manner with the other UNDP Units, being responsible for boosting the National Office's project portfolio in the abovementioned areas of interest.


Specific Context of the Position:

Under the supervision of the Justice 4.0 Project Manager and in conjunction with the project assistants, the IT Project Associate will work in the Governance and Justice for Development team, providing technical input for innovative projects within the department, as well as supporting administrative activities and carrying out activities supporting the project portfolio.


The responsibilities of the IT Project Associate will encompass activities in DIM projects within the Justice and Governance for Development unit, specially those held in partnership with the Judiciary.


Deveres e responsabilidades


In this role the IT Project Associate will be responsible for supporting projects implementation, assuring high-quality outcomes, and enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

This includes providing technical input and support for projects implementation, guaranteeing innovation, technical efficiency, quality, and effectiveness, and supporting planning, monitoring and evaluation activities of the projects, in articulation with the Project Manager.


Summary of Key Functions:

  • Provides technical support on implementation of projects, including technical evaluation of technology, innovative and disruptive IT products, planning and monitoring IT implementation strategies, monitoring of good practices for technology products, and related activities.
  • Interact with the technical teams of the projects, monitoring deliveries, analysing technical products, holding meetings, specially granting that the deliveries made are aligned with the best technology practices, with the rules of international technical cooperation, the national law, aways seeking the sustainability of the products developed.
  • Supporting planning, monitoring and evaluation activities of the projects, in articulation with the Project Manager, including follow-up, on a daily basis, with projects partners and donors, to guarantee smooth technical implementation of activities of the project;
  • Support the timely preparation and submission of progress reports, donor reports, project reviews, and any other required project reports, organization of project reviews meetings;
  • Participation in selection processes for Letters of Agreement signature, as well as undertake activities related to LoAs monitoring;
  • The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

The IT Project Management Associate will work under the overall guidance and the supervision of the Project Manager and Coordinator of the Justice and Governance for Development Unit.
