Position Description
Product Quality, within Quality & Customer Satisfaction Central Business Areas - Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT)
Quality is a core value of the Volvo Group and a prerequisite for Customer Satisfaction.

Within Group Trucks Technology, Quality and Customer Satisfaction will drive X-functional Quality work within GTT to secure Volvo Group Leadership in Customer Satisfaction.


Q&CS Central Business Areas is a global quality organization supporting the Central Business Areas - Volvo Bus with Prevost/Nova, Volvo Construction Equipment, and Volvo Penta - to bring products of the best quality and safety levels to global markets.

Job Summary


As Brand Quality Leader you will take on the important challenge to ensure that the overall product quality and reliability targets are met for the Central Business Areas.

You will function as the front office for all product quality issues and resulting customer satisfaction.


You will act as the key person representing the market/end-customer in different product quality forums within GTT and VBLA, as well as the responsible to attend product quality conferences presenting the latest news and solutions to our customers.

Majority of your time is spent in office where you remotely work with analyzes and support systems, however the job involves occasional traveling to investigate and resolve problems at customer locations.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Represent GTT QCS to the Central Business Areas for issues related to product quality and reliability;
  • Receive and respond to MQRs from Central Business Areas;
  • Search, detect and quantify actively & preventively customer quality issues and prioritize for preinvestigation.
  • Perform preinvestigation of field quality issues in order to request and follow the introduction of proper solutions in a timely manner.
  • Actively search for rapid containment actions (can be recommend internal campaign).
  • Drive rapid field response (early field indicators, TMA followup and Warranty claims);
  • Recommend solving process (CPI,Q-PMR, Task Force, Red card, etc.)
  • Appoint QSP Leader when QSP process is recommended.
  • Actively support PME during the root cause analysis;
  • Followup of CPIs including check of effectiveness of solution and coordinate response;
  • Develop QCS KPI and monthly status report materials;
  • Recommend external campaign based on technical description and present at the External Campaign Committee.
  • Identify potential safety related issue upon field report / claim received and communicate to Safety Investigator.
  • Predict the quality levels in order to reach the targets of KPI identified for each sales region and report the results accordingly.
  • Contribute to long term quality roadmap.
  • Lead quick action teams (Tasks Forces and Red Cards) and Product Launch Teams within GTT (QAGs) if required.
Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills

  • Bachelors Degree in a technical field (for example, as engineer or technologist); MASTERS PREFERED
  • Strong knowledge in Diesel Engine
  • Key Account management experience preferably in an international environment;
  • Some background in service technical matters with powertrain, truck, bus or parts business is very desirable;
  • Depth knowledge in Quality tools (mainly on Root cause analysis), Statistical analysis and Reliability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English;
  • Strong problem solving skills and an analytical approach;
  • Lead and feel comfortable in working autonomously
  • Communicative, personable and have a strong drive to succeed;
  • Be able to drive many parallel activities.
