Dow has an opportunity as a Receivable Specialist for the North Region (Andean, Mexico, and Colombia), located in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

About you and this role - What you would do in this role:

You will be the main responsible for the collection of all accounts receivable aligned to a portfolio of customers and the reconciliation of these customers' accounts.

This role is integral to the success of the Company's cash flow objectives, attaining company Accounts Receivables percent current & days sales outstanding targets for accounts receivable and influencing, customers payments as a priority.

Within this role, there is a strong interaction with customers and key internal partners such as commercial, customer service, and finance teams.


Responsibilities:


  • Communicates periodically account statements to customers.
  • Performs proactive precollection of neardue invoices with customers, and gives visibility to internal areas by updating the system.
  • Performs collections of pastdue invoices, leads root cause analysis and implements corrective action with the customer and internal Dow partners to ensure timeliness of future payments.
  • Manages customer account reconciliations in order to deliver accurate financial statements for Dow and the customer.
  • Investigates and resolves customer payment discrepancies; works closely with customer and internal departments to determine corrective actions.
  • Issues customer sales adjustments according to business standards/agreements.
  • Supports finance with customer's orders that are being held on credit block.
  • Applies customer payments and performs offsets.
  • Resolves customer short payments.
  • Additional transactional activities, including but not limited to: tax certificate updates, web portal review, document retrieval, and customer contact information updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Accounting, Finance, Business Management and Business Administration degrees are preferred.
  • Languages: Spanish (fluent), Portuguese (intermediate), English (intermediate)
  • Work experience on finance, accounting or customer service.
  • Interest to develop a career in Finance.

Preferred Skills:

  • SAP & reporting tools.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong customer service mindset and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
  • Proven effective and professional communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Ability to continuously seek opportunities to improve work processes and activities.

  • Strong teamwork abilities to work in a collaborative environment.
