Responsibilities:


  • Support the Seed Commercialization, registration, and control of ~150M tons of Seed potatoes in a four (4) year pipeline production supply chain; price negotiation for all seed potato generation
  • Estimated Spend all generation is approx. USD 90MM all seeds in circuit within the grower's system;
  • Registration of all seed OPS includes: 3 years Seed Potato plan, production KPIs (Key Performance Indicators): volume, waste, yields, quality standards, sanity, warehousing, warehousing waste, inventory allocation and seed supply decisions for current year and next three years;
  • Develops seed strategies for the multiplications of all seeds, portfolio between PEP IP seeds and public seeds, and to ensure volume assurance for 80% of best varieties in the best planting window;
  • Support the right variety pipeline (61 Peruvian varieties from CEDAP) and be aligned with the Rhinelander breeder program, with the goal of setting up variety trials in all Latin American countries. Estimated in 2 season x 3 regions x 9 countries = 54 trials variety set per year and Agro research spend USD 650M/ year;
  • Implement the seed potato tracking and volume system Crop-Track for seed growers across all LATAM countries. The tool must be the official inventory control system; and USD 120M/ year AOP spend for this topic;
  • Participation on the Rhinelander Global varieties advancement meeting, contributing to technical discussions with local test results;
  • Brings innovation to develop continuous improvement to maximize the production of seeds. These projects include productivity, waste reduction, minimize seed reproduction and improve warehouse capabilities to stock lower quantities of seed to lowered TCO on seeds, develops and executes seed potato productivity projects worth ~US$1 MM per year;
  • Promote the data control as tool for depository historical data bank to take decisions over variety development based on observed data and the local climatic pattern;
  • Manage as dotted line 7 Local Seed managers and seed production personnel to ensure efficient and effective seed production operations and his career development;
  • Develop and implement potato varieties strategies aligned with the operations, legal, Manufacturing, and Research & Development teams to promote the companies gains over better potato raw material for production and great flavor, flesh, and crunchiness to the customers;
  • Ensure that seed production operations comply with relevant regulations, standards, and certifications, Governmental requirements, sustainability practices, under Pep Positive agenda, and seed certification agencies;
  • Training growers and agronomists and using the best seed practices and measuring the benefits, turning the benefits financial gains into productivity projects in the Power of Steering.
  • Support operations in countries that depend on seed potato imports (GUA, RD, BR, EC) represent 3.5M tons of imported seed potatoes per year (USD 7.6M annually).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Horticulture, or a related field, with a focus on digital agriculture and sustainability.
  • Several years of experience in seed production, agronomic research, and seed product management, with a focus on digital agriculture and sustainability.
