Job Description:


We are presently recruiting for an Analyst, in the AE Latin America group based in our São Paulo office, reporting to a Managing Director within AE Latin America.

The new team member will work closely with Portfolio Managers, evaluating potential public security investment opportunities, conducting research, developing recommendations, participating in the communication of investments, and monitoring and managing investments.


Role Specific Accountabilities:


  • Support the evaluation of potential company investments on a long & short perspective
  • Participate in meetings with the management of public corporations, industry experts and analyst calls
  • Prepare analytical investment reviews and recommendations in collaboration with the team, including industry overviews, written investment rationales and due diligence reviews
  • Research, analyze and report on macro level industry trends
  • Collaboration with internal teams (including global peers and sector experts in other jurisdictions) to support the investment monitoring process

Monitor Public Security Investments

  • Analyze and communicate company earnings and events
  • Monitor ongoing financial performance of portfolio assets. Update financial models and other analytical tools to support the idea generation process and rational behind change in investment view
  • Continuous monitoring of invested positions, seeking to form a deep knowledge on the target companies and sectors
  • Support Portfolio manager in building and leveraging relationships with industry participants and management teams

Be a Contributing Team Player

  • Participate in and contribute to investment recommendation meetings and departmental meetings
  • Supportive of other members on the team
  • Collaborate with other departments to produce impactful research work

Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated interest in building a career as an investor
  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree; CFA certification would be a plus
  • Achieved high levels of academic performance and exhibit intellectual curiosity
  • Strong research, analytical, financial modeling, valuation, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively


  • Advanced computer/technical skills

  • MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, Bloomberg
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated interest in capital markets and the investment management process; ability to interpret economic news and market conditions
  • Detailoriented with an ability to produce high quality work
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
