Purpose of the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Manager with experience of public health initiatives to control vector-borne diseases and/or biological control of crop pests, combined with a passion to translate cutting edge research into high impact commercially viable products to join our PMO Team.

Demonstrable experience of working across technical and commercial teams to manage the process of bringing final stage R&D pipeline products through to market is essential for this role.

This newly created role will support Oxitec's Commercial Team to specifically manage the delivery of our go-to-market implementation plans to time, cost and quality.

This is a key role within the PMO, future-proofing Oxitec's ability to scale - bringing more products through from R&D to market in parallel, without compromising on quality or the speed with which we can access markets and make an impact on global health and food security.

The role holder will report in to the PMO's Lead (Director of Technology Program Management, UK-based) but will retain matrix line management under Brazil's Country Director.


Responsibilities

Embedded within our Global Production Hub in Campinas, your unique blend of expertise, skills and experience will contribute towards our mission: achieving demonstrable, real-world public health impacts, using project management best practice.


The responsibility of the role includes:

Working together with Program Leads to take over management of project plans delivery where products transition from R&D pipelines into high volume production to facilitate go-to-market strategies; ensuring timely delivery of commercial milestones to cost and quality.

Escalating delays and timeline slippage to key stakeholders when appropriate.

As well as rReporting into the Commercial Team and the R&D Technical Operations Group to update on progress towards meeting our key performance indicators (KPIs) and achieving company goals; you will also be expected to brief upwards towards the SLT.

Directly supporting the Director of Business Development, to manage successful delivery of quarterly priorities across the Commercial Team.
Strengthen our Global PMO's capabilities by establishing PM best practice throughout our Brazil Hub, mentoring and coaching colleagues.
Contributing to the maintenance of our centrally managed risk register and lessons learned log.

Key Qualifications and Experience

To succeed in this role, working at the interface to translate world-class research into real world impacts - working at pace without sacrificing the quality expected from our products, you will need to be a resilient, resourceful project manager; a team player with a calm approach and a natural aptitude for problem solving.

You will be fully supported by Oxitec's Project Management Office, and in turn will be expected to support your team (spanning the UK, US, Brazil) to achieve strategically prioritised product launches.

You will have strong relationship building and collaboration skills, excellent communication skills with extensive experience of stakeholder management.
Track record of leading multi-country, complex product development projects - delivering to time, cost and quality.
Educated to degree level with a background in public health, vector-borne disease control, pest control, Agritech industries or similar.
Professional project management qualification desirable.
Has operated in an organisation of pace, where flexibility is required.
Experience of managing international stakeholder networks.
Resilient, calm, able to distil information quickly for others and help the creation of solutions.
Excellent written reporting and PowerPoint presentation skills. Familiarity with SharePoint Online (SPOL) and Smartsheet's is desirable.
Ability to travel internationally.
