About the Role:

We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager with a track record of leading technology teams to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team in Brazil.

In this role, you will oversee the team responsible for developing Wiley's Assessment platforms. Your collaboration with a distributed technology leadership team will drive a responsive and high-performance software delivery capability.

How you will make an impact:

Collaborate with other technical leaders to develop and execute a software engineering strategy.
Mentor team members and colleagues in architecture, software development, quality engineering best practices, and interpersonal skills.
Develop and implement improvements in software development practices.
Plan, direct, and coordinate software development and testing activities to ensure that resources are used efficiently and goals for timelines and quality are met. Manage team members to include enhancing team development and socialization across different locations, facilitating knowledge sharing among developers, regularly reviewing performance, managing underperformance, understanding HR policies, and focusing on the training, coaching, and recruitment of team members.

What we look for:

Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Experienced technology manager with a software development background.
Agile/Scrum and SAFe framework proficiency.
Skilled in software engineering with diverse technology stacks.
Knowledgeable in automated processes: CI/CD, Containers, Orchestration, IaC.
Selfmotivated, independent, with performance management expertise.
Coaching and mentoring skills with a team/serviceoriented mindset. Fluent in Portuguese and English, capable of providing technical training.
