WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER:


Generating conservation, social and economic value

In collaboration with global and local organizations, and TNC teams, we will manage a portfolio of sustainable rural development, regenerative agriculture, public policy/environmental compliance, and restoration projects in private areas aimed at delivering direct conservation, economic and social impacts, generating value to farmers, agribusiness sector and other critical stakeholders, including the public sector and markets at the local, national and international levels.


Maximizing the impact of conservation initiatives
We will work with multi-stakeholders (farmer's unions, ag. companies, financial sector, public sector agencies, investment agencies, civil society, market players and others) to propose, adapt and co-develop sustainable rural development projects, programs and policies at the local and state levels to support our ambitious 2030 conservation goals with inclusive and equitable low emissions development in the Amazon. We will closely work with national, regional and global TNC teams (Restoration, Provide Food and Water, Zero Conversion Commodities - ZCC, Regenerative Ranching and Agriculture - R2A, Freshwater, External Affairs, Science, Innovative economic and financial mechanisms

and others) to deliver higher synergic conservation impacts in the Amazon biome, securing long-term climate-resilient rural production and improvement of ecosystem services in private areas.


Scaling sustainable production and transforming rural development

In close collaboration and supporting other Conservation Hubs in the Brazilian Amazon and TNC's global, regional and national teams, we will engage with key stakeholders, orchestrating transformative changes on markets, private sector, public policies, production practices & technology, that enable and accelerate a large-scale transition in the rural sector in the Brazilian Amazon, mobilizing resources and decisively contributing to climate mitigation and adaptation, as well as tackling social, economic and biodiversity challenges.


WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU:

Together we will promote a long-term balance between rural production, conservation and socio-economic development.

We are looking for you to bring consistent expertise on lands conservation and restoration, tackling deforestation, green development, improved livelihoods for smallholders, public policy, multi-stakeholder engagement and transparent and inclusive governance processes.

Global, regional and local TNC teams will seek your leadership to guide them in forest-positive rural production & conservation, environmental compliance (Forest Code), sustainable value-chains and leveraging conservation initiatives through public policies and market mechanisms in the Amazon biome, particularly in the State of Pará/Brazil.


  • Reporting directly to the Brazilian Amazon Director, you will lead the Private Areas Hub in the Brazilian Amazon, being the reference person at the local and state levels, proactively engaging internal and external stakeholders to provide guidance, assess needs and mobilize the necessary capacity to support and leverage TNC and partner organizations' initiatives. You will also support and work in collaboration with TNC's Conservation Strategies, Science, XA and Communication teams at the national and global levels.

Responsibilities & Scope:


  • Proactively follow and promote our Code of Conduct both internally and externally, continuously and consistently demonstrating alignment with our values.
  • Collaboratively develop and implements a conservation strategy for private areas in the Brazilian Amazon, focusing on TNC's 2030 goals, with a strong interface and participation in our science planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning processes.
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to improve conservation solutions on private areas with a transparent, inclusive and equitable approach
  • Leverage conservation and sustainable production efforts through public policy and innovative market and financial mechanisms
  • Develop in partnership with other Hubs in the Brazilian Amazon proposals to incorporate and transform conservation initiatives to private areas
