The team you will be a part of:

Latin America Region - LAR's privacy team is responsible for providing technical and legal advice/support to our business teams, understanding their needs and mitigating risks according to the company's requirements.

The privacy LAR team will have the full support and follow-up from the privacy global team that has a solid governance with all company's regions.

It will also work closely with the GIS - Global and Regional Cybersecurity team.


This role in summary:

The Sr.


Privacy Manager is responsible for:
(1) driving "privacy by design" for Enterprise Architecture and Regional Value Stream projects and initiatives, and

(2) providing regional governance for key GIS-managed Privacy platforms.


This role will report to the Legal & Compliance director from Brazil and have a dotted line to the Global Head of Privacy within the Legal Organization.


A key element of this position will be seamlessly coordinating between the Global Privacy Program in the Legal Organization and project teams in the IT to ensure clean handoffs and translations of privacy requirements.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Provide embedded privacy support for Regional Value Streams and associated platform launches to ensure that "privacy by design" and regulatory requirements are considered from the outset for IT strategic initiatives. In doing so, you will coordinate with the other Regional DPOs in the Global Privacy Program to ensure local compliance requirements are clearly understood and communicated.

You will:

  • Embed with global Privacy Center of Excellence (PCOE)
  • Work closely with the Privacy Global team to ensure Privacy integration into applicable projects and initiatives related to que Global Governance.
  • Drive global governance and rationalization for key ITmanaged privacy platforms
  • Provide global governance for the following portfolio of Privacy platforms: (1) Cookie privacy strategy, (2) DSAR, (3) Consent Management, (4) personal data breach processes, (4) PIA ́s
  • Work with the Global Privacy Program define by Corp to determine Privacy platform launch / expansion plans and coordinate within GIS to ensure such plans are integrated within GIS long term planning
  • Develop and support execution of strategy for streamlining and rationalizing Privacy platforms globally
  • Lead regional governance policies and procedures
  • Partner with the cybersecurity function to ensure third party privacy assessment controls are in place
  • Collaborate with the legal department to ensure all applicable privacy requirements are embedded in the company's contracts and agreements, in line with the company's global standards.
  • Develop regional training and awareness strategies
  • Partner with local communications team to develop a regional awareness privacy strategy
  • Conduct facetoface training sessions
  • Develop companywide and teamspecific training resources

Minimum requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7 years' experience in Privacy/Data Protection
  • Knowledge of global privacy regulations (e.g., LGPD-Brazil, LFPDPPP-Mexico, PDPA-Argentina and other privacy laws in place in the LAR region) as they pertain to IT systems. Staying uptodate as the laws evolve
  • Deep experience in driving Privacy by Design and operational implementation of privacy processes within the business
  • Familiarity with modern digital marketing systems & tech stacks along with associated privacy implications
  • Analytics, data mining, statistics, and other data science activities and their impact on data privacy
  • IoT and Cloud Technology
  • Passion for keeping the global Whirlpool organization safe, secure, and reliable. Passion for data privacy and respect for the individual.
  • Form complex communications / messages in a simple, clear and concise manner to the various communities within our organization. This can include different cultures, nationalities, international locations and languages
  • Establish positive working relations
