ActivitésContribute to major 2G&R and dedicated projects studies by analyzing, validating and integrating in a consistent geological scheme new seismic and well data.
Implement and contribute with reservoir engineer to dynamic synthesis and field reviews.

Evaluate the existing geological and reservoir models, propose and justify data acquisitions and GSR studies aimed at improving the reservoir evaluations for the Libra field.

Build and regularly update the geological models as new data become available.
Contribute to the design of the drilling projects (well trajectory, objectives, equipment, data acquisition) with Geophysicist, Drilling Dpt. and Subsurface, up to the Well Location Report.

Follow subsurface operations and well data acquisition with subsurface operations geologist and, whenever it is possible, assist the operator with proactive proposals about their preparation.

Implement, coordinate and guarantee the consistency of specialist studies.
Identify the geological uncertainties for risk analysis studies.
Ensure the geological consistency of the flow simulation models.
Ensure the assessment of volumes in place and related uncertainties.
Ensure the implementation and execution of proper G&G data management methods
Influence and convince partners on the added value of the TotalEnergies proposals.
Represent Reservoir Geology in technical meetings with Partners and third-party entities.
Ensure relations with HQ, partners and authorities in the field of Reservoir Geology
Initiate, coordinate and follow-up studies and project relative to Reservoir Geology carried-out by head-quarter specialists.
Contribute to the technical feed-back concerning methodology and tools.

Share knowledge acquired on the asset in terms of geological modeling with other assets, improving subsidiary 2G&R knowledge in lacustrine carbonate of the Brazilian pre-salt deposits.

  • Implement Reservoir Geology Specialty rules and Group HSE procedures in his domain
Assist the geophysicist whenever is necessary in cross-functional tasks like seismic interpretation, well calibration and seismic data analysis

Contexte et environnementWork inside a multicultural geosciences, development, and joint venture asset team.

The Mero project is expected to become the most producing project in TepBR and one of the most producing assets for TotalEnergies in the next years.

Mero project is an ultra deep water development in the Brazil pre-salt Santos Basin with ~4 Gb of 2P reserves + 2C resources.

The fluid is with high GOR (~400 v/v) and high CO2 content (40-45%). The reservoir is complex in a context of lacustrine carbonate with significant geoscience uncertainties (permeability), geomodelling challenges. The enhanced recovery mechanisms considers WAG as base case scenario.
The base case development is 4 FPU units with each 180 kb/d liquid capacity and 12 Mm3/d gas processing and compression capacity + the Pionerio de Libra (FPSO with 50 kbopd capacity for Extended Well Test operating since the 26-nov LOP CAPEX = 4 x 4 G$, LOP OPEX = 4 x 8 G$, including FPSO lease.
The geological complexity of the Libra field is unique.

The management of the subsurface uncertainties is a key element in the optimal development and subsequent management of the field.

The field performance has evidently been impacted by reservoir uncertainties.
The integration of the Geosciences and Reservoir disciplines is vital. Good communication between TepBR GSR and other GSR entities (incl. Surfaces/Operations, Geophysics Operations), Drilling and Completion and Field Operations is key for the overall success of the field development and production optimization

3 DP drill-ships are drilling in parallel appraisal or development wells, with TD greater than 5750mSS, challenging MPD controlled operations, and complex lithology and pressure prediction.

New wells ́ drilling campaign is expected to drill 18 more wells until 2030.
The 1st FPSO was started in April 2022. It will be followed by a new FPSO start-up every year until 2025.

Libra block consortium:
Petrobras Operator (38,6%), Total (19,3%), Shell (19,3%), CNODC (9,65%), CNOOC (9,65%), PPSA (3,5%) as administrator of the consortium.
