Company Overview

Position Overview

Lead and develop the Generalist HR team in Latin America. Act in partnership and provide Human Resources support for local leaders and functional teams. Translate the corporate HR strategy in specific goals for the region to contribute to the regional business strategy. Lead the succession plans conversations with the various regional leaders and develop action plans.

Ensure the implementation and consistency of corporate HR programs, when applicable, and develop and deploy others according to regional specificities and needs.

Manage / Supervise activities related to recruitment and selection processes, training and development, compensation and benefits, relationship with external entities and union relations, performance cycles, payroll, internship programs and trainees, among others.

Provide coaching and mentoring in the region according to local development strategies, for HR team, leaders and/ or associates.

Ensure compliance with the budget of the HR area and support the areas and functions in the development and maintenance of the budget related to people in each cycle.

Job Responsibilities


Encourage conversations and challenge leaders and opinion leaders to live and practice Hexion's core values and serve as an example for the organization on living those in practice.

Translate the corporate HR strategy into specific regional goals and objectives to support the achievement of business strategy and sustainable results (based on Hexion's core competencies)

Lead the conversations about performance evaluation cycles and succession plans with the various regional leaders and establish action plans.


Ensure that there are systems and processes that cover the entire complete associate life cycle in our company, from the establishment of hiring needs and definition of job descriptions, through the selection process, onboarding, training, and development, and resignation / retirement.


Ensure that the company's selection processes are inclusive, and that we are open to people with diverse profiles for open positions, to add value to our organizational culture.


Conducts go and manage changes and improvements within the scope of Human Resources, using Hexion's change management and tools process.


Lead conversations with local managers on conflict resolution, harassment issues, etc., using legal counseling when appropriate, to resolve issues quickly and fairly to minimize legal risk to the company.

Communicates to leaders and associates all changes and improvements in HR processes and programs.


Support and coach to the HR team in Latin America towards providing a good level of HR service to the organization and a great associate experience.

Identifies the requirements of organizational performance and teams to meet business strategies.

Influence in the necessary changes in the organization and its culture.

Ensure that leadership competence model is used in the selection and development of leaders.

Conducts trainings and meeting facilitation as needed.

Ensure the effectiveness of the onboarding process to new associates in their specific location.


Work in partnership with the legal area in the various areas of interface, such as the provision of third parties who provide services in the various units under their responsibility, investigation of compliance cases, union relations, anticipation of changes in labor legislation, labor processes, among others.

Ensure that all payroll-related activities occur within the established deadlines, respecting and complying with labor / social security legislation, according to existing narratives


Represents the company before all unions where the company has units, ensuring the interests of the company and the working people in all negotiations, keeping all union agreements updated.


Ensure compliance with the budget of the area and support the processes of budget construction of people in the region according to the established schedule.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

Fluent in Brazilian Portuguese & English

Proven experience (and results) with team leadership.

Extensive experience in human resources process management

HR systems and sub-systems management and legal aspects (including compliance)

Ability to facilitate workshops and training

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in psychology, Administration, or related areas

Desirable postgraduate or specialization on People / HR Management

Minimum 8 years of experience in team leadership. Minimum experience of 15 years in HR systems and sub-systems.

Management and direct leadership of Human Resources and its sub-systems

Experience in matrix environments

Experience in industries of any nature, but Chemical industr
