About the Role:

We are hiring a Senior Software Quality Engineer to join our Global SQE team, part of the Wiley Professional Learning Technology organization, located in our Wiley office in Curitiba, Brazil.

To deliver software products with adequate quality, the Senior Software Quality Engineer (SSQE) works to expand tools and processes that are applied by each squad member to ensure a built-in quality level at every increment and meets appropriate quality standards throughout development.

How you will make an impact:

The SSQE is a member of the SQE team and reports to the team manager.
She/he supports development through various testing activities and leveraging automation
She/he interacts with squad members (software developers), to share or discuss process changes.
She/he has interactions with members of the Infrastructure Team and with Quality organizations of other businesses of Wiley group.
Analyze the specification of a user story, build associated test strategy, and plan and execute the validation within the appropriate schedule and effort, working collaboratively with other members of your Scrum team.
Register defects found during the validation, with proper categorization of impact, priority, and other data used by the company.
Provide information about progress in each validation effort, raise alerts ahead of time on story validation or in the release delivery, and other data as requested by quality engineering processes.
Work collaboratively with other members of the SQE Team and support them with their validations when needed, to ensure we deliver on time the best quality release.
Suggest changes in the Software Development Life Cycle to improve it and adopt new tools to simplify and optimize daily tasks.
Support the maintenance of test case assets used during nonregression campaigns to follow software product evolutions.
Be a contributor to the test automation continuous effort, supporting the automation of new test cases or the maintenance of existing ones.

What we look for:

B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Language Requirements: Fluent in English, Portuguese
5 or more years of experience in the Software Testing area or as a Software Developer
Good experience with Agile/Scrum methodology. Knowledge of SAFe is appreciated
Logical thinking, problem solving, team working, curiosity.
Experience with Github code repository or equivalent
Preferably would have experience testing automation with Selenium or equivalent.
Experience as a Software Developer would be a key advantage.
Any experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery like Jenkins or equivalent
